      Hey Everyone. Introducing Myself.

Hey all. I am not new to the experience of becoming lucid, but this is my first time ever contemplating it afterwards. I have had numerous experiences of becoming lucid within dreams, for several years now, but I always become almost, afraid per say, and immediately attempt to wake myself up. I am a bit busy today, but I just wanted to introduce myself. I am looking forward to taking sometime later tonight to actually sit down and read more about this topic on the forums.

Also before I leave, I would like to mention an experience I had just last evening. As soon as I become lucid I become very violent, and start killing people. To be clearer, I ended up running several people over in my car. It was kind of disturbing to me because I semi-knew what I was doing, but when I woke up I was rather appalled that I had done something like that. Very weird, I do not know if it is a subconscious mechanism, or something else, but it actually has bothered me. Like I said before, I always get very weirded out by the feeling when I become lucid, and always immediately attempt to wake myself up. Well anyways, I have things to attend to, but if you find anything interesting that I have wrote, please enlighten me! Thanks. Talk to some of you soon I hope.

Welcome to DV! I wonder whether your feeling weirded out was the cause of your violent outrage: lashing out against the dream characters as kind of a reaction of fighting against the experience of lucid dreaming? Anyway, I would think that if you knew you were dreaming, you knew that your actions would not have waking life consequences: people would not really die if you killed dream characters. While I would probably feel guilty and weird if I had had a dream like that too, but you did not really do anything wrong (nobody was harmed due to your dream actions aside from yourself), and while you were lucid, you were dreaming. When we dream we do not usually have full use of our faculties and we have less inhibitions, and even in a lucid dream these are not up to the standards of waking life, so we cannot hold ourselves fully responsible for al dream actions I think even when lucid, especially since this may have been a low awareness lucid I suspect - you probably did not think it through at the level of waking thought logic. I think the reason why you lashed out against the dream may be a knee jerk reaction of being a bit scared and uncomfortable due to not fully understanding what lucid dreaming is, and we humans do tend to get scared of the unknown. If I were you, I would learn more about lucid dreaming, and spend some time thinking about it, and persuade yourself in waking life that there is nothing to be uncomfortable about in lucid dreams, that you can control yourself in such dreams - note in this dream you had I believe you were not really in control, but you can tell yourself that you expect to be in control of the situation in the future. Best!
