      Introducing myself

I am new to this website and would like to shout out a hello to everyone.

I was into lucid dreaming for a short while about 15 years ago. A friend of mine who had them on a regular basis told me about them and I was immediately intrigued. Looking for the easy and effortless way out, I ordered the Nova Dreamer and had immediate success with it. I had several LDs with it, but at the time, being only 16 years old, 250$ was a lot of money so I returned it. My LD phase lasted about a month, but I had many LDs, and remember them being great. For some reason though, I lost interest and quickly forgot all about LDs.

Fast forward to last week. I started researching LD again and stumbled upon this site. I was struck by how active the discussion is here, and was suddenly interested in pursuing LD again. 15 years ago, discussion sites such as this one did not exist, and I think they are a terrific source of information that I did not have at the time.

Yesterday, I started looking at my hands a few times a day to perform a reality check. I count each finger and make sure that everything is where it should be. Before going to bed, I repeated to myself that if I dream, I will realize that I am dreaming, and before I knew it, I was sleeping. I woke up around 630 and before going immediately back to sleep, told myself once again that I would have a lucid dream. I quickly feel asleep and I remember waking up again soon afterwards. For some reason, I decided to do a RC and looked at my right hand and began counting 1-2-3-4-5-6... Uhhh 6???? OMG I must be dreaming! I jumped out of bed and tried to push the excitement down, but the sudden realization of having succeeded was hard to overcome. I woke up almost immediately. Was it from the excitement or because my GF made some noise getting ready for work? Not sure. But it sure it exciting knowing that I have had success after so little effort. It gives me great hope that I will be able to have some more LDs in the near future.

Just wanted to share my new found success with all of you, and hope to share many more experiences and hope to learn from all of yours!

Tonight I am going to begin journaling so that I can increase my recall. Hopefully I can achieve LD #2 tonight. Wish me luck!!

If you have any questions don't be afriad to ask me, the Dream Guide team, or someone else who's willing to help.

And congrats on your first lucid!

Edit: and you don't have to be afraid about talking about sex dreams or anything...people do it all the time.

Hey Absolut, welcome to DV and it's awesome to hear that you are getting back into LDing As I'm sure you learned back in the day, it's an awesome hobby and yea, I consider myself so lucky to be around in an age when so many resources are available online!

Sounds like you've already managed to find some of them, and know a bit about LDing, but if you have any questions please ask, and I look forward to seeing you around on the forums
