      Was this a lucid dream?

Hi everyone! nice to meet ya!

So I had this really weird dream and I'm not sure if I was lucid or not. Can you guys help me out here?
In my dream my friends and I were hanging out at a mall. After some time we got tired and decided to go home. I was in the parking lot and I jumped into my friends car. And while I was sitting next to her I thought to myself " am I dreaming?" and looked down at my hand to perform a RC. But right when I looked at my hand I heard a very loud noise kind of like a gunshot. And the dream faded VERY quickly until everything is black. Then I started to see images of dying or already dead people . At this point I was trying to get up but I couldn't so I decided to relax and eventually woke up.

So was this a lucid dream or not? And what happened to me at the end there? I plan to try again tonight so any advice for that scary crap?

Note: I have been doing MILD for two weeks now and this was my first time using WBTB.

I have many dreams in which I become lucid, and realise the dream is just that, a dream
This does not stop me from allowing the dream to take its natural course.
To accept the dream world as another reality does not make your dream non-lucid.
Often the realisation that nothing is real will stop your dream dead in its tracks.
The next time you become lucid, just go with the flow, and observe what is happening around you.
The flying, and super powers will come in time, you just need patience, and self training.
So, in my opinion, your dream was a lucid dream.
Often there is a message in dreams, and it looks like you have to determine what yours means.

      Good luck........

      Hi Risus! Welcome to Dreamviews!

This was a lucid dream, it's just that you probably got too excited and the dream faded. When I become lucid, I usually have this sudden enlightened feeling. I also hear sometimes hear sounds, like an engine starting, and I think to myself, "I'm dreaming!"

The dead people probably were the first thing you thought of, and, because you thought of them, they became a reality. That tends to happen: anything you think about in any dream, lucid or regular, will (usually) come true. If you see scary images, just use your mind to turn them into something else. You also should realize that you really are just lying in your bed, and the worst that can happen to you is you wake up, so stuff in dreams can't ever really harm you!

Next time, I suggest trying to keep yourself from getting so excited, you wake up. Try to stabilize the dream by looking at your hands, or being aware of the dream. That should keep you not thinking about your real body, and center your mind on the dream itself. Good luck on getting ld's!
