Exclamation how to wake up (and my first lucid dream experience!)

Last night, I had my first **PROPER** lucid dream. First, I was in my mums house looking at the TV, and it was baby blue with white numbers on it. I did a reality check (which is a habit so i guess it went into my dream) and I had 7 fingers (I remember the place of my extra 2 very very clearly), then it blanked and I was in some kind of room (now that I think about it, it was like the corner of my sisters room in my old house), and i was holding a strawberry. I recalled what I read prior to the dream about control, so I turned it into ice (i think) and then threw it in the bin. i was lucid by then, obviously. So then I blanked again, (or teleported?) to a weird art room with easels etc. I met my classmate there, she had 4 fingers I think. She said she had arthiritis (what), and i kept looking for ways to wake up, because ive been scared of lucidity because of what ive heard (SP, hallucinations, shadow people etc...) and I kept looking, and my friend couldnt tell me. So after Id looked everywhere, I woke up.

I was scared and I kind of woke up with breath loss for a second, and I was too scared to go back to sleep. I did reality checks when I woke up though.

So yeah, how would I wake up next time? Ive been looking around, and its made me less scared of lucidity than I was this morning.
      thank you.

      Hi OmegaAlpha, welcome to Dreamviews!

Congrats on your lucid dream! Yeey, you had 7 fingers. That always surprises the heck out of me.

It sounds like your lucid is what we call a DILD - a lucid dream, that starts from within a regular dream. As you have experienced yourself, there is nothing scary waiting for you in your LD. Sure, it can be a scary dream, same was as you can have a scary regular dream.

But SP you will not experience while asleep. Majority of people can experience SP 1-2 in a lifetime. And that's when either falling asleep or waking up. And it's not lucid dreaming related. Unless you suffer with SP disorder, you are quite unlike to feel it.

And HH, or hypnagogic hallucinations, those you may experience frequently when you are inducing your LD via WILD. Majority of them are either pleasant or not scary at all. If you WILDing with pleasant thoughts, your experience will most likely be also pleasant. And for many, even something that others would call scary, can be fun.

It really depends on you, how you look at it and if you allow yourself to enjoy this brand new experience, no matter how strange it will be.

And how to wake up? Try to think of your sleeping body, of waking up, or close your eyes. Happy dreams and ask any question.
