      Good evening, Dreamers.

I am currently rediscovering lucid dreaming after years of not practicing it. Luckily it's coming back to me now but it's rather frustrating that when I bring it up with other friends they either look at me like I'm crazy or are just uninterested. I figured this could be a great place to meet fellow dreamers and learn much more I'm currently having trouble making my lucid dreams last for an extended period of time. They only feel like a minute or less long. Does anyone else have, or have had this issue and could give some insight? Thank you in advance!

Welcome to DV. No one here thinks you're crazy
Your dreams will get longer if you stabilize them properly. Have a look at the dv wiki, or dv tutorials. Proper stabilization can let you stay in the dreams for a much longer time.

Thanks a lot man I'll check those out! I had some better luck last night actually. I do the reality check of seeing if I have all ten fingers. To stabilize my dream I kept looking down at my hands when ever I felt it collapsing. The dream lasted much longer except while having a conversation with a dream character I got carried away and lost lucidity Making progress though!

That's the way. Lucid dreaming is like threading a fine line considering it's not a truly natural state to be in. You want to always retain awareness of some degree and not fall into routine as you would in normal life. It actually quite tough because we spend most of our days unconscious acting through a routine, in a dream you can't.
You'll make good progress just by trying as well.

      good luck
