      A new experience

Hi, my name is Ryan. Though of course my username is actually Reporter.

I live in Alaska, Fairbanks. And yes, we do get 24/7 darkness during the winter months, which also sometimes can get to -50 degrees below zero.

I work as a reporter for the local news, thus the reason for my user name. My job can get pretty stressful sometimes, but I love it to death. I was hired for the position at 19 years old. I'm about to turn 21 in 2 weeks, so obviously it seems I'm doing a good enough job.

Lucid dreaming has always been interesting to me. I've tried it years ago with mixed results. The first lucid dream I recall was as a little kid. I had been having reoccurring nightmares of various monsters attacking me. On one particular dream, I was aware that I was dreaming and turned the creatures into harmless flowers, never to dream of them again. That's why I want to be conscious of my dreams now. I want to conquer my fears, learn new experiences without the pressure of those around me, and have fun while doing it.

I hope you guys can help me.

Ryan, welcome! as a reporter I am sure you are interested in finding out what exciting or interesting stuff is going on. Here on DreamViews right now, one of the exciting things going on is that we have a sign up for the dream competition: http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...read-17-a.html - if you follow the link in the first post you will see what the previous such competition was like. This is a good way of getting motivated and getting to know others here. Since every recalled dream counts as a point during the competition, you can get points even if you do not get lucid, but the competition can make lucid dreams more likely. I hope to see you there!

You may say I'm a dreamer.
