      Cool My Greetings.

      Good day ladies and gentlemen,

So after lurking this website for a day or 2 I decided that I wanted to be part of this community.

A few days ago, before coming to this forum, I had a dream I vaguely remembered. Since it has been quite a while since I've actually realized that I had dreamt, I instantly got interested in the subject again.
The more I read on these forums, the more dreams I recall from a few years ago, and I realized that I was actually lucid at the time. I recall only 2 at the moment (Something with Sonic and Lego Bionicles, I was a kid at the time ) The way I actually obtained lucidity at the time was through nightmares. I realized that I shouldn't run away. I tried to take control of the situation, and partially succeeded. I do remember getting quite stressed because some things I wanted to happen didn't happen, and because my nightmares, although partialy under my control, didn't stop being creepy.

Either way I find it rather fascinating that I can still remember these dreams, because I have a really lousy memory. In fact, I recall these dreams clearer than conversations I've had last week.

Now, with all the lucid past stuff out of the way, let me tell you a tad about my hobbies. I'm an avid manga/anime fan (I've actually been to Japan last summer) and I also play a lot of games. Not just video games, but also board games and pen and paper roleplaying games. I also enjoy doing videogame livestreams and making video's and I'm currently doing computer science in college.

I hope we can all get along, and sweet dreams,

      ~Red

Hi Redstuf, welcome to DreamViews! ^o^

I'm also an anime, manga, video game fan! That's cool you've been to Japan, I'd really like to go.

Start a dream journal to remember more dreams a night, it really helps with recall. I've heard of other people that have had nightmares that triggered lucidity, it must be scary at the time if you don't know what lucid dreaming is. Some people use lucid dreaming as a way to stop having nightly nightmares.

If you have any questions let me or any of the Dream Guides know.

      See you around the forums~

      Thanks Mismagius

Japan was a lot of fun, but I think I've seen enough temples for the rest of my life :3

The thought of actually starting a dream journal kicked up during my attempt to WILD, but it slipped my mind right after that.
Also it's been quite a while since I've had a nightmare (I think I slapped those bionicles so hard that I forgot about them. I believe it was a pretty interesting battle I had.). The only recent nightmares I remember involve 3 "nightmares" on consecutive nights involving falling elevators (I sure pondered the option to take the stairs after 2 of those dreams) but in my dreams I didn't really perceive those as scary, merely confusing.

One problem I do have is that I have trouble falling asleep. Last night alone I've attempted to WILD for 2 hours straight without really noticing the time pass. And I only fell asleep 30 minutes later (1:22 is the last time I remember seeing)

Also a fascinating moment from a dream last night: I was working in a maid cafe for a split second. As a guy. Somehow didn't bother me in the slightest though, so at least i had that going for me, which was nice.

When you WILD is it when you first lay down at night or after waking up after 5 or more hours of sleep?

lol at the maid cafe, slapping bionicles, and elevator dreams XD

I wonder what could have caused you to have 3 falling elevator dreams in a row? There's actually a thread for elevator dreams, if you're interested: http://www.dreamviews.com/general-dr...or-dreams.html

A battle with or as bionicles sounds cool, I think I'll put that on my to do list.

Regarding my attempts at WILDing, I try to do both. For some reason, attempting a WILD before going to sleep allows me to fall asleep much easier than if I don't.
I do have issues getting out of bed after my WBTB alarm goes off, but I should be able to fix that by focusing on writing a dream journal.

Yes, my dreams, much like my personality, tend to be very eccentric and odd. Not that I mind though, they're pretty much all good fun.

And agreed, the elevator dreams were weird, especially because I never got stuck in an elevator nor do I dislike them. They take me up and down, and that's all they do.
One of the more interesting things is that although they all fell down in a certain way, I always managed to escape, or the elevator just slowed down when we were at the ground floor. No simple crash and wake up, but the dream just continued as if nothing had happened.

The bionicles dream I remember the clearest, even now. It started with some sort of chase somewhere, followed by a false awakening on an inflatable bed in my own room.
I suggested to myself that I heard a noise in the bathroom, and upon opening the bathroom door, the entire bathroom was replaced by a display showing off human size bionicles. In the black sky above the display helicopters with big searchlights flew over. At that moment, I was attacked by the biggest of the bionicles. After a short struggle, leading back through the bathroom door into my sister's bedroom, I beat him up and stuffed him into a bag. After that I dragged the bag back outside, and all the bionicles looked confused...

I must've been feeling pretty cocky at the time XD
