Question Brace your self! I am coming! :)

      hello!! my name is yohan!
i am from indonesia... would like to join in all of your magnificent journey..
firstly, i am very interested in lucid dream
so i've search anything i could find in internet about it.. and found Reality check technique and write a dream journal...
frankly, i found it in Awoken Apps in Google play...
i practice it for months... and so suddenly, last night... i had very weird experience...
i was going to bed... in very tired condition... (*because world cup)
then... everything was fine... mmm... but it was weird dream though... weird story...
after more or less three hours of sleeping.. in my dream, i was doing my reality check like i used to do in reality by accident... in dream i got sick.. and i plugged my nose to stop the bleeding... ( i am using plug nose to do my reality check.. if it's dream i would still can breathe...) then.. i still could breathe... then i knew it's only dream... i ran... and.. i jump! there's no gravity at all!!! the stars all around me!!
it was so fun... but i forgot to follow my story in dream.. then... i get knock out.. and woke up in my reality...

when i woke up.. but.. i couldnt move my body at all..
my local folklore told me that there was a ghost holding my body... but i dont believe it... because i did found many people experienced it when started gaining lucidity... instead of fear... i felt joy... and very excited with this condition... then i tried to sleep again...
when i was in my dream once again... i tried to plug my nose again... and i could still breath! i was wandering around... play with many girls and forgot to follow the story again... then i felt like i was awoken... but then it's still a dream... it repeated again and again everytime i did my reality check... it stop until i forgot to do my reality check... and i woke up in reality...
when i wake up... i can't recall the story i was in... i just remember of being awake in my own dream... the part when i plug my nose, jump into the stars and play with girls....
      what's happening to me?

i am newbie here.. need your guide...
      please.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

Congrats on your Lucid dream! Was it your first one? And yes, nose plug reality check is one of the most popular ones. And it's sure fun to do.

So look around and ask your questions. Happy dreams.

      Welcome to the forum!

Congrats on the first lucid. Sounds like it was a good one, too!

The "ghost" holding your body is actually a completely normal phenomenon called sleep paralysis. The brain kind of shuts off the muscles when you go to sleep, and sometimes you can wake up before your muscles are "turned back on", so to speak. Although it's not necessary for a lucid dream, it can definitely be used to enter one, much like you did.

As for not remembering the majority of your dream upon waking, that's perfectly normal too. Try to not move when you first wake up, and just kind of replay the dream in your mind, trying to remember as much as possible. Also, as you use your dream journal more, your dream recall will get better, and you should be able to remember full dreams, and even multiple dreams per night.

I also use Awoken as my lucid app of choice. There's a setting to have a silent notification appear waiting for you in the morning to go straight to your dream journal (although it doesn't work for me at times...). I would recommend that as you make journaling a habit.

But it sounds like you're off to a good start!

I havnt had a lucid dream yet and I think I'm getting close to my first one but I don't want sleep paralysis to happen to me on my first Ld. Also did u hear whispers or hallucinations if u open your eyes? Can you get out of Sleep paralysis?

Fear not the SP. It is totally harmless. But if you try to move during SP and you focus on gaining control of your body, you can snap out of it, but it is a waste to do that. Instead, ignore the SP and focus on a dream scenario and you will find yourself there in no time, fully lucid But there are many ways to become lucid without going through the SP. Reality checks and dream journals will be your best friend.

And to the OP, welcome to DV and grats on the lucid!
