Hello, I am new here and need a bit of your help

Hello guys, I am new here. My name is Daniel and I live in Czech Republic.

I am more of an introvert. Real life seems kinda boring for me, therefore my hobbies are playing video games, watching movies, listening to music and so on. I also tend to daydream a lot. Once I was thinking that it would be great to have a machine that transfers me to an alternative world where I can do whatever I want. Then I accidently found out informations about lucid dreaming on the internet and I realised that it may bring me exactly the same thing. It may look like I am trying to escape from reality, but thats not really my case. I would rather like to experience something amazing, since the real life is so boring. I would really like to experience lucid dreams

I have already had few lucid dreams in my life. One I remember is that while in a dream I suddenly realised that I am dreaming and jumped out of a high building while enjoying that it is just a dream and it will not hurt me. Before I hitted the ground, I woke up. This actually happened more than once in my dream. But it is a long time ago and I did not know anything about lucid dreaming in that time, so I didnt pay much attention to it.

I have been reading about lucid dreaming for about one week for now. I have got a dream journal and started recoding my dreams. I used an alarm to wake me up at night (after 4,5h I went to bed) to improve my dream recall. I found that my dream recall is much better when I wake up myself naturally. Therefore I plan to start drinking a lot of water before I go to sleep to wake up myself naturally during a night, will see how it works. I also repeat mantra to myself as I am falling asleep at night. So far I have recordered 6 full dreams and some fragments from other dreams in the first week. 2 nights I have remembered 2 dreams, meaning that I was able to recall my dreams 4 days in the first week. I hope it will get better soon.

I am doing reality checks daily, lets say 10-20 times a day. I always ask myself whenever I am in a dream and look at my surroundings to check if there is anything strange. Then I perform action and imagine how it would feel like if my reality check really worked. For a while, I am trying to believe that I am actually in a dream.

I am planning to stick to permanent sleeping schedule and mix up MILD and WBTB techniques once my dream recall gets better and start practicing them. WILD may be great too, but it looks too complicated to me and is not often recommended for newbies.

Should I start practicing LD techniques already or wait until my dream recall gets better ?
Is there any other technique you would recommend me instead ? Keep in mind that I am a fresh newbie
Do you have any other advice for me how to start or what should I do in order to practice LDing ?

Thanks very much for your help. I apologize for any mistakes I have made, my English is still bad

You should always work on a good base of recall and induction as well. SSILD is a good supplement to help LDing, but it isn't really much of a technique by itself.

This is a good simple start to work on. ^

Thank you for all the advices, I really appreciate it. I will check out the links you posted to get more info
I have already read about many methods alongside with SSILD. To be honest, for me SSILD looks too simple to be true. I may give it a try. Now I have to decide to either start with MILD/WBTB or SSILD. I know that I have to find out myself which method works best for me, but first I need some method that is good to start with. Something that's newbie-friendly. Which one of these should I start with?

Naiya is the most noon friendly in my opinion. But I would recommend reading Stephen Laberges exploring the world of lucid dreams to get a good foundation. Ssild is a type of mild and wild, but it cannot replace day work, so it really should be pushed off until you get some good recall and day work down.

Alright. I will keep doing reality checks daily and working on my dream recall. When my recall gets better, I will start practicing MILD with WBTB. I have read book called Art of The Lucid Dreaming by Rebecca Turner. The book you mentioned looks good as well, I am going to check it out

If you want one of the finest books on lucid dreaming, make sure you get exploring the world of lucid dreaming by stephen lebarge, many consider it to be one of the best books on LDing you can find (currently reading it now myself!)

haha, I recommended that as well. I have read it like 20 times in the last couple years. Just a good solid foundation! I love it. I need to buy Daniel Love's book as well, but I keep not having money.
