Maybe you automatically aren't breathing throughout most dreams anyways or something since its more physical instinct than mental.

And how do you know when you are really lucid dreaming, and not just having a dream in which you are dreaming that you are lucid? I never really understood the border there, or if there even is one.

I have held my breath in a LD, sometimes I don't even breathe at all in one.
About the LDing, yes, you would know, b/c LDing is when you know you are dreaming! If you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, please!

Hehe, thanks for the quick reply! Well what I meant was how do you know you aren't dreaming about being lucid... as in you are dreaming that you realize you are dreaming, but dont "truly" realize it, and when you wake up it would be the same kind of memory as when you actually have an LD. For example if you dream of driving off a cliff, when you wake up you have a vivid memory of driving off a cliff eve though you didn't. Similarly, you can perhaps dream of becoming lucid, and when you wake up you have a vivid memory of becoming lucid even though you didn't. So I don't know if they are the same, or it just doesn't matter which of those you experience, or what. I'm pretty sure I just make no sense but thats the best I can think to explain it right now! Maybe its just one of those things best not to question

Actually, you have to be true to realize it.
There is a major difference between Lucid Dreaming & Vivid Dreaming. LDing is when you know for sure you are dreaming, and no, it can be all distorted & still be a LD if you know you are dreaming still. A Vivid Dream is a realistic looking dream, & yes, a dream can be either one, both, or neither.
Don't worry, we would like to know all about it, b/c though some of us may be high in experience, we want to teach more, & learn more!

I hear that one alot, I'm not sure there is a border there, but maybe because I've just never "dreamt I was lucid." I mean, when you're really fully lucid, it's like a "BANG you're conscious, but still dreaming, and you know it!"

I suppose it would only be a plausible question if it were someone like me who is new to it and whose lucid dreams are still pretty hazy. Anyways, I'll assume it was a real lucid dream, it probably was anyways, and I'll look forward to more soon!
