Hi! LDing for 1.5+ years, but...

      Hello everyone,

I aim to use LD for pleasure, entertainment, and my own creativity(such as aiding myself with writing/art, which I need desperately.)

I started maybe around mid-2013, but am moving at a glacial pace. I *DO* think that in the past few weeks, I've finally begun to find ways to dramatically increase my chances of some lucidity each night, but things like stabilization are still a massive issue and few if any LDs last over a minute or two for me. RCs seem to do next to nothing, resulting in me forgetting to do them, and I usually become lucid spontaneously for no easily determined reason. I'm here mostly to engage with other LDers, learn all I can to fix this slow rate of discovery that's plaguing me, and just keep LD in my mind more when awake, particularly when bedtime isn't that far off.

Good to be on here finally!

Hi, welcome and best luck with your journey!!

Lucid dreaming offers amazing potential to explore, not only in the dream itself but perhaps even more in the waking state
Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way

Try not to worry much about what pace you are moving. I too started in mid-2013 and have had about 20 lucid dreams. I must admit I could've commited more to it, but I'm giving it my best now. Each person learns at their own pace depending on their circumstances, don't get worked up on it, this isn't a competition, we're here to support each other

Goo luck and enjoy your trip!!

      Thanks to both of you.

I realize we'll all go at our own pace, but my neglection of it has probably been avoidable, for the most part, and I want to avoid that in the future by taking advantage of sites like this. It's more about really wanting to do more with LD due to boredom and projects I've been working on for years that LD could help a lot with. It's less a competition with others and more a goal of using LD effectively instead of repeatedly dreams crumbling around me the minute I start summoning characters and making other "orders" to my subconscious to get things off the ground for my own purposes. In other words, I'm kind of going in circles lately rather than learning, and breaking the cycle would do wonders for me.

Catalonia, eh? Home of the mighty Luis Royo, who's a real inspiration to me.

Ha, of course. I thought you meant something specific about these urgent artistic needs I'm having and trying to cure with LD.
