I've also seen some cool ideas for getting your eyes working, like taking off imaginary glasses/lenses, or simply realising that you're not restricted by eyelids in dreams because you don't have eyes! (I believe those ideas came from Sensei and Sageous, respectively.)

I had a crazy LD today which you have to look in my profile for that post because I can't post links yet.

Along with it being my favourite LD ever, I think I learnt a lot from it in terms of stabilisation.
When I was thinking about not being able to get my eyes back open I couldn't, although when I did it without thinking it was fine and dandy.

I think I need to just stop thinking so much about it like you said and hopefully I've solved the problem.
