Hey, and welcome. Sleep paralysis is something that happens to me quite often. It is basically the feeling of being paralized while you are asleep and in my experience when I am trying to wake up. Sometimes it feels like something is sitting on you and it is very hard to breathe. You can't move at all. When it first started happening it was extremely terrifing, But what I learned from my wonderful peers here is that you should just go with it. You can probably get more detailed info by going to the search button and searching for sleep paralysis and anything else you are curious about. |

Sleep paralysis is something that practically every person goes through when they go to sleep. The body is kept from moving so that you don't try to live out what you're dreaming, such as hitting someone or jumping out a windor or something like that. Many people who use Wake Induced LD (WILD) techniques often use it as a cue that they're about to enter a dream. |

Yeah I find sleep paralysis to be a wonderful thing, because whenever I experience it I know I'm about to go lucid. There is nothing to fear with SP or HH (sleep paralysis or hypnogogic hallucinations)...it can all be a bit strange at first. But just remember that nothing can harm you, so don't let your imagination run away with you and let you think silly things like...someone is sitting on your chest, etc. That's just nonsense. |

O.K. so... it will probably only happen if I attempt WILD? Or is there a chance of it happening every time I go to sleep or everytime i go into lucid dreaming? |
