      Ahem...Hello.

Yes, as the topic states, hello. I am very happy to find this new place of awesome...osity...or something like that. Anyways, about how I came about finding this place...

I had become very interested in the subject of lucid dreaming after doing a research paper on dreaming and decided I wanted to investigate further. I stumbled upon this place after a doing search on google. I don't know much, but I'm here to absorb as much as I can.

My brother seems to be one of those with the natural ability to lucid dream. I, on the other hand, am pretty sure I'm pretty far from having a lucid dream, considering I'm still working on being able to remember half of my dreams. I'll keep working though. =D

On that note, I end my tiny little introduction. ^_^

Cool Dude, Welcome to the forums. I believe you can be thoroughly jealous of his natural ability to lucid dream and you could probably get some help from him. I mean even though he is a natural he can still get what you're talking about. If you need any help ask me or anyone else on here, most people are willing to help. By the way, the chatroom is there for a reason, I'm plugging it I know, but that's my little campsite.

      Enjoy DreamViews!

Hey there, & welcome to the forum!
The best thing to do to try to have a LD is to keep a Dream Journal & RC as much as possible. If you do that, you could become a LDer, & it is possible if you get good enough, you could even DS w/your brother! All you have to do is keep on trying!

      Welcome to Dream Views, yo.

A little piece of advice that may go a long way...

Try not to arm your subconscious with doubt, because it is a sneaky mofo and will most likely take advantage of it. Keep in mind that many of the people I've introduced to lucid dreaming have had lucid dreams within the first 2-3 nights of my telling them about it. When it comes to attaining lucidity, always realize that you are in control when you really want to be. Sometimes your sleep patterns and/or stress levels (including frustration over doubt) will keep you from attaining lucidity early on, or even later on down the road, but with the right frame of mind, these should prove to either not be a problem at all, or simply minor setbacks.

The fastest way to lucidity is to realize that you Can do it. Many times it just happens automatically, so being new to the idea should not hold you back from having them, but learning more about them can only help to speed up the process. 8)

      Good luck.

Hey there and welcome to the forum!

First things first...you should start a dream journal and attempt to increase your dream recall. Even though we may not realize it or think much about it we all have many dreams each night. It would be helpful for you, if you are having trouble recalling dreams when you wake in the morning, to set your alarm for about 6 hours after you go to sleep. That way you should still have some dreams fresh in your mind so that you can write them down.

Though it may seem to be a pain to wake up and write your dreams down...it's well worth it for I know that I am always frustrated when I know that I have had a really great dream and cannot remember it at all the next morning. Trust me! Once your recall improves you can move on to the next step...baby steps!

It's great that your brother has the natural ability. But no worries, anyone can learn how to LD. I came here with the natural ability to lucid dream and have learned SO MUCH so even though you aren't a natural you may still become far better at LDing than he with the aid of this wonderful place.

      Ciao!

Thanks for the advice everyone, you guys rock. I'll get straight to it. I'll start a dream journal tonight and keep up with that. I'm determined so I'll keep trying. I'll get there eventually! Once again, thanks a ton. =D

      Good luck lmsketch!
And please keep us posted on your progress. This would help also those like me that are still at the starting line of LD...

But I'm optimistic about myself: today I understood acronyms like RC or SD (used by nesgirl119 in this thread). I'm in the right path towards lucidity
