      Is this a Lucid Dream

I want to know one thing before posting anyother thing on this forum that can we call a dream lucid in which we are only flying in air. (without any support).
Though I know this is a stupid question but I really want to know about this aspect (speciallY)

      Thanks

A Lucid Dream is a dream in which the dreamer becomes aware that he or she is dreaming.
This should be stickied for it is a too frequent question.

Well dear peyshedelic I know the definition of lucid dream.

But I want to know that can we call such kinda dream a lucid dream.

Because I have read somewhere that any unusual dream (like talking dog etc) used to be a lucid dream.

And I think flying isn't a usual thing.

Hoping you will be getting my point.

      Anyhow thanks for answering.

Hey Kahn, I think what psychedelic means is that a lucid dream is not defined any other way than when you are aware that you are dreaming. Any actions (e.g. Flying) you decide to take while lucid are just part of the lucidity you experience.

Ordinary dreams that are 'unusual' are not necessarily Lucid dreams, because talking to dogs or flying are not sufficient conditions for defining a lucid dream.

      Hope this helps!

You can call it Lemon Sauce, but for this kind of dream to fit in the definition of \"Lucid Dream\", You must be aware and conscious of this being a dream.

Unusual dreams might become Lucid Dreams if you use these strange things to trigger Your lucidity - tell Yourself that flying isn't possible in waking life and then tell yourself that it's a dream and off You go...

Hey Khan, welcome to the forum.

Yep, Psychedelic and Night Wolf are correct. A lucid dream is just simply: being aware that you are dreaming. By definition it has nothing to do with the content of the dream. I have had many non-lucids and hundreds of lucids where I was flying.

      Thanks for helping mates

I was in confusion about this (as some one has told me that you can say this a lucid dream) But now I am clear.

THanks to both Psychedelic and Night Wolf . Hoping You will help me in future too.

This is the best place I know to clarify any doubt about lucid dreaming: competence and kindness.
