      Heeeelllooo good people

Well..hmm..ell I tried this almost accidentally today, I randomly woke up and I soon realised that I had a chance so I didn't open my eyes or move (but I think I did)
Afree like 3 seconds I could feel vibrations in my body and my heart started beating faster and sounded as if there was a speaker relaying my heart beat, it was incredibly loud. . I found it really difficult to keep my eyes shut and remembered that there's a possibility of getting sleep paralysis if you try to open them during that short period. .after around 10 seconds 5ge ringing stopped and my heart beat went back to normal.I waited an ectreatment 10 seconds..but when I tried sitting up I did some reality checks only to realise I was awake. .was the problem that I only slept for about three hours thus no REM or I waited too long to open my eyes..Also I moved one of my finger a little...but for a first try it was good..also it took me around an hour to fall asleep again

      ^^ Welcome, Theonidas!

I hope that first serendipitous experience will lead you -- perhaps with the help of the resources and good people of DreamViews -- to an exploration that takes you beyond the noise you experienced and on to lucid dreaming itself.

Good luck, and see you around the forums!

      Welcome!

Maybe it might pay to sleep for at least 5 hours before trying that again, then you'll be closer to REM.

      to DreamViews, Theonidus!

I believe you were very very close to a lucid dream. Next time when you feel vibrations or any other strange sensation, or if you see or hear something, try and stand up from your bed. Not with your muscles, but by giving your body mental command. It's enough to think "stand up" and imagine yourself doing so.

on the second try I decide to DILD... I read up on it, did all my intentions, Made a mantra.. It's "PERC" ... Personal best... Responsible... Confident... Like a Perk :p... Well I then self woke up at 4:45, got up I blacked out so I brushed my teeth, stretched a bit, read a bit more on DILD... I then wrote my non lucid dream in my journal ( first time keeping a journal so please bear with me) We'll I was in a strange house and I suddenly spotted a cockroach, the size of a cat... And it was quite a aggressive.. I tried to smash it against the door, no dice.. I then tried to poison it by cutting the head off of another roach.. Also large cats began to appear that were bullying the cat that we had (in IRL)... So after going to bed at 5:40 I did all the necessary things... Mantra, intentions then stayed still, first time I had to move cause I wasn't comfortable but on the second try I stayed still.. Saliva was building up in my mouth though... After I think what felt like an hour I felt some vibrations and noise which I proceeded to ignore and also an sp like feeling which I took full advantage of as it helped me keep still.. During this time I'm still repeating my mantra after every exhale... I could see some stars and shapes and weird lights and tried to look for a rectangular shaped one... So that i could form a roller coaster.. But I didn't manage... I kept going in and out of focus... I think I fell asleep after a but then soon woke up and continued reciting my mantra..(there seems to be gap here) but it's where the next dream starts...
Now first I had a non lucid dream (again) ... It was about me riding a bike in the county side and someone wanting to forcibly trade bicycle sears.. I tried to escape but he ran after me but he wasn't aggressive but very adamant. Then this is Where there seemed to be a gap in my dream. All of a sudden I find myself outside a little shop on my bike (in IRL I don't own one).. The guy who wanted my bike is looking for some tools, I take the opportunity and run away again this time I'm successful. 10 seconds into my ride I find a highway. But there's only one problem, all the cars are going the same way on both the lanes, towards me, I weave through them and move to the right Lane (by the way it's suddenly night time) then all of a sudden I notice a car going the "correct" way and a lot of the cars on the right Lane that seemed to be driving the wrong way were actually just facing the wrong way but reversing /driving backwards. Immediately I knew that that wasn't normal and told myself that I was in a dream. I willed myself to go 150 kph on the bike and I started to accelerate. While this was happening I started to think about what I wanted to do. I then concluded that if I wanted to reach any town it would take too long so I got off my bike. I remembered the technique of spinning around quickly like a figure skater. Unfortunately I woke up. Or did I? I found myself in bed but surprisingly very calm but I kept my eyes shut. First I thought it was probably a false awakening since it usually happens if you fail to anchor. I then attempted to levitate above my bed but it didn't work. But for some strange reason I thought that I could DEILD/DILD again by just staying still and repeating my mantra. I fell asleep
NOTE:After I woke up I remembered that sometimes after doing some anchoring you may have a false awakening and should do some RCs. And also I had made the intention of having a portal to my gym in the bathroom that lead to a type of door that I can type in or think about a place and it'll send me there in case I ever had a false awakening.
What did I do wrong?maybe the amount of sleep? It was about 4 and a half hours then I WBTB. Or should I have rubbed my hands together to make it more vivid?

Yeah, you should've grounded yourself into the dream before attempting to do the spinning technique. It's a really risky one, and I recall losing a lucid doing that. You're better off making a door and intending it to lead you to your destination, and even so you should always ground yourself the second you attain lucidity. This means just engage and be aware of your senses in the dream. Feel something, like your own hands, and experience being there.

The amount of sleep doesn't affect your lucid dreaming ability, it only affects the time limit of the dream. The later you wake up for WBTB, the better.
