      New to the Forum

Hello everyone! My nickname is Rem (my actual initials, but everyone teases me about R.E.M.)

I am 24 years old, living in the Southern United States.

I've been a lucid dreamer/recalled since I was a child, but had never thought to join a forum or share my dreams until I happened to stumble across this site. I never realized that lucid dreaming wasn't normal until a few years ago.

I think since starting this site, I'm only going to record my dreams from now onwards, otherwise I'd have so many to go back and add to here. I may record the ones that I think were the most interesting.

As I am new to this site, please be kind. I'll try my best at getting involved in the site and with everyone.

Welcome to Dreamviews! I look forward to reading your dream journal. I havn't read many dream journals of natural lucid dreamers so it will be interesting to see how it compares to my own.

You don't have to worry about us being kind. Everyone here is very friendly. We are haply to have you as part of our site.

(if this post shows up twice I posted it already and it disappeared)

I think everyone has lucid dreams but they happen rarely and they wake up after a few seconds so they think that is all there is

When I was in my early teens I probably had several per year, but none of then were intentional.

When I began to lucid dream intentionally at least I had a base to build from.

How many luicd dreamers have you met in the real world (or is it the case that you assumed it so normal that you never even mentioned it to anyone)?

Sure LUCID DREAMS are all fun and games until someone loses a third eye.

I hadn't met any. Like you said, I just assumed it was normal and never mentioned anything. I overheard some friends talking about their dreams and the dreams seemed very bland so I asked them why they didn't make them more interesting or focus on something else, and they looked at me like I was crazy. When I told them that my dreams were always vivid and magical, that I could control what was going on, and always remember them, they told me I was abnormal.

They are always very vivid, and sometimes I can actually feel pain from things that are happening in them. That's when I have to do a reality check and remind myself that I'm not actually getting hurt. But even then I've woken up with a lingering pain.

While I can typically control what's going on, sometimes I like to just go with the flow of the dream to see what happens, like an interactive movie. Sometimes I get exasperated when DCs seem to be bumbling around so I'll yell at them to get back in line.

I've also had a few FAs, and a few dreams that I can't control. Most of those seem to be nightmares, and I can't move at all.

I'm not going to claim that I can recall 100% of my dreams, because I'm sure I have more than what I remember. Some nights I'll have one long dream, others I will have 2-3 shorter ones because I'm woken up by my puppy. Often I've been able to wake from a dream, then go back into it as I fall back asleep. I would say I have at least 5 LDs a week. So far, my top favorite is being able to explore underwater and breathing the water like I'm a mermaid.

Yes Zero is a typical number of real life lucid dreamers people seem to know.

My mother is a very vivid dreamer, who can control/remember many dreams. My brother says he rarely dreams but is aware and can do a TiVo like rewind on them (so most likely he is only lucid a few times per year, but remembers these dreams only). But neither of them are really interested in Lucid Dreams.

I also know a girl who is pretty much a natural, but she is all into thinking her dreams are Premonitions etc, so we have very different takes on Lucid Dreams. I will say things to her like if you can control your dreams and they also predict the future then you can control the future, I should buy a lottery ticket show her the numbers and tell her to dream of them coming up in the lotto, see how many times in a row she doesn't even come close he he

I myself used to think some of my dreams were predicting the future, but then I realized that I am a very detail oriented person and when I'm awake, I think of dozens of possibilities of outcomes for situations, so it's only natural that I play something out in my dreams then it happens later on in real life.
