Is it a lucid dream ?

I had my first ever lucid dream (?) this morning 6.30 am. Nov 6 Sun.

      Let me explain it.

I joined this forum only two days ago. But I had researched on this topic very much. I dont keep a dream journal but I tries to remember my dreams always. I do my reality check by looking at my hands and counting the fingers. Some times I look at clocks.

      My dream...

" I was travelling in a two wheeler with two of my friends. ie., three of us were travelling in a two wheeler. Both of them are my real life best friends Vishwajith and Hisham. Hisham was riding the bike. Vishwajith sat behind Hisham and I sat behind Vishwajith at the edge of the bike. When we were travelling at light speed we saw a Police man looking at us. I was sure that he will punish us. ( which usually happens in real life. We three usually travel in a single bike ! ). But the police man didn't punish us and this made me do a reality check in my dream ( For the very first time ). I looked at my hands. But nothing was wrong. Both of the hands were perfect with five fingers each. Soon I noticed that both of my friends were missing. So I looked at the hands once more. This time I noticed that the thumb finger of my left hand was very longer than usual. It had branches on it. And this made me feel that I am dreaming.

I was very excited. And I started running through the road. The problem was that I remembered all the research done by me and tried to do each and every lucid dreaming experiences in that single second. I tried to make the world more clear by spinning myself. But I was not able to do that since I was in a hurry. I noticed a cow. Its color was blue and I changed its color to green just by thinking about it. Then I noticed a girl in the top floor of a two floor building. She was dressed in a ancient Greek style. Seeing that girl noticing me I waved my hand to her. At that time I remembered a forum thread " Saying your dream " . I shouted my name to her. Which is my real name. I shouted my name three times and this made me awake. "

That is it. But some doubts. I was not excited very much after this. So is it a real lucid dream. Or am I dreaming about becoming lucid ?

Can I suggest to new dreamers. "Never read so much before you have your first lucid dream."

Can I consider me as a " Lucid scholar ". ( knowing very much but experience very less. I know 'experience is knowledge' )

      .

Definitely a lucid dream - you were aware you were dreaming and that's the only criterion as I understand it.

I tend to have the same problem (staying in the dream) the few times I've been lucid; but I'm just happy I've been lucid a few times at this point!

Instead of trying to control the whole dream try seating up the situation and then ride it like a wave.
