      Demon on my belly

I have a reaccuring dream. I will hear a loud scampering noise, and then something about half my size presses down on my belly. I feel as though I am awake, but I cannot see anything there. I envision it to be a little animal (perhaps a "demon" of sorts). When this happens, I open my eyes, and feel as though I cannot move. I am frozen in space and also feel as if I cannot breathe. I look over to my kitties, and they are staring at me wondering if all is okay. After a few moments, I am finally able to move again and the sensation disappears. Has anyone heard of something like this before and if so, is there any explanation for it?

This is what's known as the "old hag" syndrome. Some people experience this sensation when they enter sleep paralysis (SP). It's really nothing to worry about.

Here's a link that may help explain it:

Hey there, & welcome to the forum.
That is known as SP, probably w/a bit of Hypnotic imagery added into it. There is no need to be afraid of it....in fact, you could even use it to WILD!!
And please, don't quadrapost a topic again.....so you won't get into trouble w/Icedawg
And just for fun, mods, here are the other 3 of his quadraposts:
      Post 2
      Post 3
      Post 4

      Enjoy deleting them!!

I have removed the duplicate posts. Thanks for the heads-up, Nesgirl.

flibsgibs, I know you are new, so you are probably not aware of all the rules, but please do not post duplicate topics in multiple forums. Thanks!

No prob!! I watch the forum alot, so I can tell when there is a problem...only problem is, I cannot do much about it...except inform Seeker, Icedawg, a mod, or a DG. Still, I never cease to watch the forum..

      So sorry about that!

Thanks so much for the information on what I've been dealing with. And I am SO SORRY about posting FOUR times. I have no idea what I did wrong, because for some reason, I thought that I only posted it once! OOPS. Please forgive me, and of course I didn't mean to do that.

      Have a GREAT day!

Everyone makes mistakes, especially newbies (I made about 1,000 a day as a newbie....at least it is down to about 50 a day), and the best thing to do is not to make them again, move on, & let the others befriend you!!

      Re: So sorry about that!

Welcome to DV, flibsgibs We're glad to have you here. As soon as I saw the title of this post I thought of "Old Hag." I've never experienced it, personally, but you can also search around the forum because there are plenty of people who have.

Let us know if you need anything!
