      Hello Im a Newbie

      Hi everyone,
I've been interested in Lucid Dreaming ever since I saw Waking Life (excellent film if you havent seen it). I am interested in LD because

1.Obviously it's cool to fly around and other otherwise impossible things!

      2. I think our dreams are somesort of window into ourselves, like an oppurtunity for a bit of self reflection, or self examination, and in the end a bit of growthas a person. I think dreams and lucid dreams could be used to try and help clarify (a least a little) just what really is on my mind, or what really does bother me, or what I really think of so and so. Obviously not every event is of staggereing significance but I definitely think that it should not be overlooked.

      3. Other reasons which I am yet to find out, and at this stage of my LD expereince, and a quite a lot more of 1.

I had my first complete LD the other day, i was lucid for an extended part of the dream, I flew around intereacted with DCs. I had to concentrate to keep lucid...

I am interested in philosophy as well, but in this regard I am not sure what to think of LDs. It seems too me like it is a possibilty for us to experience our seemingly unlimited mental potential. If I become a regular Lucid Dreamer I think I will undertake a few projects and such to try and explore the potential of Lucid Dreams. I'd be interested to hear from people who share similar ideas (or really any ideas)... I gues that's what this and other LD forums are for!

Anyway i'll stop now coz I could keep going... so hello everyone!

I forgot to mention, Lucid Dreaming could be used as an empowering tool if for whatever reason your body gave out... e.g. when you get old, if you had an accident and could no longer walk (or even paralysed) etc... Or if you were in jail or some sort of restriction like that you could still be free when you slept... .

welcome i too am very interested in the 'deeper' aspects of lucid dreaming, and utilizing it as a tool towards self-knowledge. presently i am just refining my fledgling ability, but once i master the basics i plan to experiment with LDs as a way to delve into the umplumbed depths of psyche.

happy dreaming, and i wish you luck in your journey...
