Welcome, Aeiis! It's nice to see that you have some experience! I think the situation you described sounds a whole lot like lucid dreaming. I think perhaps that you might need some help learning to control your dreams, but it's a fairly easy process. Try browsing through the tutorial section. There's a lot there to learn from.

Glad you found the forum, Aeiis. I'm sure you'll learn a lot about LDing here.

If you haven't already, you should start a dream journal. It's the first step in developing lucid dreaming by increasing your dream recall. Because what's the use of a lucid dream if you can't remember it later?

      Good Luck.

Thank you both for your greetings and advice!

I have already opened up a dream journal and am ready to start getting a handle on this thing.

Nice to meet you both, thanks again

I have been farmiliar with LDing for awhile now. Even though this is gonna make me sound like a loser, I first heard about LDing off a show called So Weird on the disney channel like 4 or 5 years ago, lol. It was actually a show on Astral Projection...but anyway.

I had started practicing last year with dream control but I decided to stop, it began to seem a little odd to me. However last night I believe I had a lucid dream experience and it led me to this forum.

There is this girl that I like a whole bunch and I have been noticing that I have been having dreams about her more often. I am guessing because I think about her so much she possibly became my cue in my dream to "awaken" me for a few moments inside my dream.

I dont think I was in complete control, I believe I was at a very low level of lucid dreaming but I still recognized it when I awoke what had happened.

The girl was talking to me and I had the urge to kiss her, something I would normally not have the opportunity to do. I remember trying to gain control of her so that I could. I kept saying stop talking. She wouldnt. I remember becoming aggitated for a second, but then tried again in a more stern, commanding voice, "STOP TALKING". She did so I preceded and was succesful in my goal. At that moment I believe I faded and the dream carried on from there.

Does that sound like Lucid Dreaming?
      Welcome to the forum!
Hey, that really sounds like a cool movie! I think I will watch it, record it, and edit all of the scary parts!
Did you know you were dreaming inside this dream? If so, it was a LD.
One thing I suggest is keeping a DJ, and writing them down!
And if you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Hi everyone! I have been a member of this forum for quite a while but this is my first post. I'm a Greek student, studying Transpersonal Psychology in England, Liverpool. I have always been interested in dreams and especially lucid dreams. I have had 3 or 4 lucid dreams in the past but since I started trying to have them at will I've had none. Maybe I shouldn't try so hard.
I have read LaBerge's books on lucid dreaming and other authors' books or articles on lucid dreaming and what I find most interesting is the relationship between lucid dreams and transpersonal experiences, meditation, Maslow's peak experiences, some forms of mystical experiences and in general the transpersonal. LaBerge has referred to lucid dreams as "instances of transcendental experiences" and I find some truth in that. Has anyone had any such experiences during a lucid dream? This year, I chose lucid dreams as my MSc thesis. Unfortunately I haven't been able to test the hypothesis for my self. As I said I don't have lucid dreams since I started trying to hard to have them. Maybe it's because I don't get enough sleep, I study to much and I am always under stress about university work. I have read that if someone doesn't have the time to devote to achieving lucidity then he/she shouldn't try it until he/she has the appropriate time to do it. So I don't know what to do now. How can I have lucid dreams again without taking time out of uni work or without changing my busy schedule?
I guess I'm going to take a look at the rest of the forum now..

Welcome to the forum, ina. I hope you find all that you are looking for here on DV. There are many methods of attaining lucidity without totally having to re-schedule your days or nights on the Tutorial section here.] If you need anything, you can always ask myself, another Dream Guide, or another knowledgeable member.
