Hello, I'm new to lucid dreaming. I think I've had an LD in the past but I don't think I knew what it was. I often have sleep paralysis when I'm trying to sleep. Usually I'm pretty frightened by it, but over the years I've learned to accept that it will never go away. And now I think it's more of a good thing since it is apart of becoming lucid. Correct me if I'm wrong. Th only experience I think I cold consider lucid was one I had when I was in high school. I went into sleep paralysis one night. I'm not sure why this always happens to me. But once I go in it is very hard to get out, and I often hallucinate behind my eyelids and when I open my eyes I see black figures standing above. So I try not to open my eyes. I have to will myself out but it's not always possible. Anyway! I went to sleep this night and fell into sleep paralysis. I couldn't get out at first, but then finally I stood up and went into the living room and started watching tv and tryig to talk to my mom in order to calm me down. In only a few minutes I realized that I was still in my bed staring at my celing. And then I realized noone was even home at the time but I swore that I was seeing an talking to my mom on our couch. It was a very foreign experience to me. Is that sorta like becoming lucid? |
