This is a technique that works really well for me (I'm not sure about other people). For example I wanted to wake up at 5:30 so I could do my english essay, so I repeated the words 'I will wake up at 5:30' a few times. I woke up at 5:36, insted of my usual 8:00 It seems to work very well for recall too.
