Hey there, welcome to Dream Views!
In asnwer to your questions:
1. Sleep paralysis is what happens during REM cycles of sleep, which is when you dream. Your body is completely paralysed, which stops you from acting out your dreams. If you can get to this stage, then it can be quite a useful way of inducing lucid dreams. Some other members may be better able to help you in that area though, as I myself have only experienced it once.
2. I'm not quite sure what you mean by this question, could you explain yourself a bit more clearly? Just remember that it is your dream, and you have complete control over it. Relieve yourself of any negative thoughts because you have nothing to fear!

4. Acronym List
If you can wake yourself up from a dream, then it must mean that at that time you are aware that you are dreaming, and therefore lucid! The next step beyond this is to maintain the awareness of being in a dream, but NOT to wake yourself up.
Hope I helped!
