      Hi

Hello I have been seeing this forum for a couple of days now, I think I have lucid dreamed over 5 times in my life without noticing. My whole life a have a lot of nightmares, but I got used to it. I can almost quit every dream whenever i want. I can even clap my hands in the real world during a dream ( I tryed this for a long time when I spend a week at my friends house, he said that I clapped in my sleep the next day I tried to clap again, and he said he saw me struggling with my hands the fourth day I mannaged to clap in the real world during my dream!). But lately my dream recall is going down to only 1 remembered dream a week . And I only lucid dream once in two weeks or something. The change in my recall and the amount of lucid dreams was after a nightmae that I had many times when I was like 6-10, In the dream Im laying in my bed (I didnt reallly knew the difference between dreaming and reality back then because I didnt remember dream signs and did no RC) I always want to get to my dad because I know he is down stairs. But if I am spotted by a sort of black gohst (or monster) I have to run back to my bed quick and pretend like nothing happens. The gohst will go to my room and bow over me. Then I cant really move, kinda scarey. at that moment I want to scream to my dad but I cant scream. I think, why cant I scream! Oh I know, damn this is a dream! And I say to myself: OK, this is a dream open youre eyes. Then I wake up, sometimes scared, sometimes happy because I woke myself up. I want to know why I have this dream and how I can go back to lucid dreaming. Thanx for reading.

Hello TheFeeling! < Speaking of that...I know the feeling.
I too had a reoccurring nightmare that was very similar. I would try to go down stairs to get my mom for help, in an attempt to do so this *$@*#! Monster would always stop me!
I once became lucid and I confronted this monster and simply said I am sick of you. It never happened again.
This was when I was very young. I did not realize either what I had actually done. Like it was out of necessity.
I suggest you use this dream scenario that you have as a stepping stone to spark your AWARENESS. Awareness of thought is lucidity.
Tell yourself that you will remember that you are dreaming when this happens to you again. Do this before you go to sleep.

Also....In your waking life. You may want to take an overview of your entire situation and see if there is any reason why your subconscious mind is throwing this at you when you sleep.
Is there a fear you are afraid to face?
I am not implying that this is an direct link to anything good or bad. But it does not hurt. Sometimes our minds try to give us direction and we fail to see it.
