      Hi! My first few questions.

      Hi everyone,

I've known about lucid dreaming for a while and tried it for the first time a while ago (at the start i wasn't trying very hard and so wasn't successful). I then started to try again last week and was amazingly successful (it shocked me, lol). I've decided to join this forum because it seems to be a great community which i'd love to get involved in! I also have heaps of questions on lucid dreaming...

I managed to lucid dream by repeating in my head "I will remember to realise that I'm dreaming". When I fell asleep I somehow knew I was dreaming (didn't need to do a reality check or anything). This happened again with another dream where I saw a huge rock/comet in the sky and realised I was dreaming but did no reality checks. Should I be doing reality checks? Or doesn't it matter?

My dream recall is pretty good (around 2-3 dreams a night as long as I write them down straight away afterwards).

I've had 3 lucid dreams in the span of around 4 nights (1 on the first night and 2 on the 4th night). I've found that as soon as I think about something (even if I don't want to do it or for it to happen) it ends up happening. Is there a way for me to stop this?

I'm currently trying to make friends appear in my dreams (I tried in my first ever lucid dream and was only kinda successful, I had the feeling they were there but couldn't really see them, kinda like thinking about someone without being able to imagine what they look like). Does anyone have any tips on making people appear in your dreams?

Anyway, in my last lucid dream I managed to fly (going to find a friend) which was very fun. I didn't write down the lucid dream straight away after though so I dont remember all the details...

Do things like waking up to go to the bathroom ruin my chances of having a lucid dream? For example, If I get up to go to the bathroom and then go back to sleep will I end up not being able to lucid dream again? I worry that i'm waking myself up too much and then won't be able to lucid dream again.

I have heaps of questions I just can't remember anymore right now, lol. Anyway, it's late and I have to get to sleep (hopefully to lucid dream!). Sorry for such a long post, but I had a lot to write,

Hey, so glad you found the forum! Congrats on all the LDs! Sounds like you've done the MILD technique without realizing it, by falling asleep telling y ourself to realize you're draeming. Well done!

And don't bother doing reality checks if you're already lucid. I think you've found what works for you, so stick with it!

You have good recall with as many dreams per night you remember. Just be consistent in writing them in your dream journal.

Sometimes getting up in the middle of the night can lead to a WBTB, or a WILD. Maybe try it a few times, and if you find it not working, don't force it. It sounds like you've got a suitable induction technique anyway.

      Good luck and have fun!

Thanks. I'd read about the MILD technique before (don't remember where), and was doing it at the wrong time at one point (just as I went to bed at night rather than after waking up in between dreams).

Now that i've had a few lucid dreams should I manage to have more without as much effort? Last night during a dream I realised I was dreaming (a dog was attacking me and i knew it had to be a dream) but didn't end up having any control (I don't remember what happened afterwards, I think the dream ended and went onto another where I wasn't lucid anymore...).

Will I eventually not need the MILD technique to have lucid dreams or will I always need to repeat in my head "I will remember to realise that I'm dreaming" just to have lucid dreams?

      Thanks,
      InvaderGarf

Well, you're already past the hard part of actually attaining lucidity. With practice, you should become lucid more and more easily. Sounds like you should concentrate on mantaining lucidity and exerting some control. If you haven't already, read through the tutorials and pick up some tips.
