Someone said to introduce myself... so

I'm Minhdzuy (pronounced Minn-Zwee) and I'm 16. I don't think I have had a lucid dream, but I have had control over some dreams. One time I really wanted a drink called Eclipse, and I had a dream where I had it. I have no idea if I knew that I was dreaming or not. THere have been 2 others that I remember.
My friend told me about LDing, so I thought that it sounded cool. I googled it and found this site. My dream recall is OK, if not a bit delayed. I can remember anywhere from 1-3 dreams a night and it sometimes varies on how much I remember. SOmetimes, I have to have real-world events or things trigger my memory, as if they are keys opening boxes of information for me. I've been OK about keeping my Dream Journal, and I hope to try to LD soon. This site has been helpful so far, and I hope the forums will help more.
Am I dreaming? Someone pinch me. Ow! ...Crap.

Hey, welcome to the forum! Glad you found the site.

You've already got a huge head start by keeping a dream journal. That's step #1. Are you recording all of the 1-3 dreams you remember per night? By doing this, you'll train your mind to be more aware of your dreams (so you can write them down later), and you can recognize common dreamsigns that occur in your dreams which will help you create reality checks that work best for you.

It sounds like you've already experienced good control, so that's definitely a step in the right direction. Lucidity and control are not dependant on one another. For example, you can control aspects of a dream without being lucid (which is what you've done), and you can be lucid without having any control. And obviously, you can have a LD with control - which is the whole point! A lot of people have problems with control once they're lucid, so by working on your control now, you may have better success once you become lucid.

So keep up the great work with everything, and please feel free to post any questions or experiences you may have. Good luck and have fun!

Oh yeah I forgot. My dreamsigns are 1. People who I don't talk to anymore 2.Mismatched colors. There are mostly "Form" dreamsigns in my dreams. About the control thing... it was very long ago. Tonight I'll try a dream incubation (if that's thinking of a dream before you go to sleep) or the self-assuring thing where you remind yourself to "DO this in a dream".
I have been recording the dreams, but I tend to write them backwards. I remember the last one first, and then so on. Sometimes I'll get it half right, where some dreams are vivid and others are vague. It is exciting for me to have dream recall though, and I can't wait to have a LD![/i]
