      Hi all

Hi guys, I found this site a few days ago, when I was looking for some information on dreams. My original purpose was to find an explanation on a nightmare I've been having once in a while for as long as I can remember , or maybe even getting rid of it. (I'll ask help in a more appropiate forum), but when I found this site, I was intriged by the concept of Lucid Dreaming (I never heard of it before), and I started to practise it. Now, eight days, I can recall my dreams, see dream signs in my dreams, but, as soon when I realise that I'm dreaming, I wake up. Can anybody help me with this?

      Hi Murh,
Thats pretty cool that you can recall your dreams and actually sometimes realize that you are dreaming in just one week!! This sounds like you are about to go into lucid dreaming from your dream state, then of course you wake up. Dont get disappointed, I think thats how it works, at least it was the same way for me.
You probably wake up because its pretty new to you, the whole experience of controling your dreams... dont get discouraged and keep trying!!!

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your LDs! Many members would give anything to start having LDs as quickly as you have. So don't be discouraged that you have a hard time maintaining lucidity - it's becoming lucid that's the hard part, so pat yourself on the back!

Basically, practice, practice, practice. The more you do it, the better you will become. Some people do stabilization techniques as soon as they realize they are dreaming - like leaning against a wall, looking at their hands, or anything else that calms you down. You're getting too excited that's the problem - which is completely reasonable - but try to control that feeling. Wait until the dream is stabilized before trying anything else. Keep doing reality checks if it helps you stay lucid. Different things work for different people - so keep trying different trying and see what works best for you.
