Newbie finally upto 1 LD a week

      All,
great forum this. didnt know there was a big subculture of ld'ers. glad to be here I have had a few LD's (before i knew the term or the theory) scared me shitless. All of these were after heavy bouts of drinking.

Finally did research on google after another intense LD ( i literally searched for "i know i am dreaming while i am dreaming" which brought me to every LD site in the web

SInce reading this website My Ld's stopped initially but I started to remeber atleast 1 or 2 dreams very clearly every night and then boom this morning (after a brief period of waking) had my next one. For some reason I was hesitant to do the reality check but forced myself to do it and voila (imagining a ball in the distance and trying to lift it always works for me - Is this my dream sign??) did an additional one read a route 89 sign and it turned to 8after i looked away. I was stunned this was the first time i was this lucid. Lasted through a few more scenes and then i was out of it.

WILD: i was not completely awake but couldnt feel my body. Dont think it was a false awakening as I could feel myself gulping saliva ( i think i was thirsty ) Thought this was best time for a WILD. Kept focusing on my breathing as I would stay completely conscious and slowly slip into the dream phase while still conscious. This was really really lucid as I was aware and conscious through the whole process. But everytime I was about to completely slip in I would get thirsty and fell my throat taking a gulp. Didnt want to wake up completely to drink water so kept doing this for a while without full success and finally gave up. I think if WILD can be achieved it could be really lucid

Happy dreaming to the rest of you

Hey Dzog, Glad to have you on the site!

(imagining a ball in the distance and trying to lift it always works for me - Is this my dream sign??)[/b]
Well, if you always see this ball in your dream then that would certainly be a dreamsign. But you say you try to imagine the ball then lift it in the distance, so I'm not sure if that's more of a reality check or what.

Doing that check in real life would prove that you're awake (by the ball not coming out of thin air!) However, the ball appearing itself would prove you are dreaming, no need to levitate it. But whatever works for you is really what it comes down to.

A dream sign, though, is really something that comes into your dream through your subconscious - something that you can associate to dreaming in both dream and waking states.
