Hi there!

I would like to thank you for this great site!

I've got a question about reality checks. What if my dreams are so close to the reality that my reality checks simply don't work in my dreams? Or for example if you have no direct dream control so you can't be able to put your hand throught your palm etc.. Is there any RC which works really for 100% ? I personally think that there is no RC which can work for 100%

What is your experience with RCs which don't work in your dreams?

Reality checks that work 100%? Try to fly, stick a finger through your palm, walk through a mirror/door/random solid object, that kinda stuff.

Hi and welcome, the easiest reality check for me is to stick my finger through my palm, Its like my skin goes all stretchy and rubbery. Matter doesn't really mean anything in most dreams.

Hello
Because I too have had dreams that were indifferent to waking life I believe I know where you are coming from. (The entire concept of lucid dreams being full reality is an entire subject I have tried to address) But everyone who wonders, remember...what is lucid. LUCID = easily understood; completely intelligible or comprehensible characterized by clear perception or understanding; rational or sane. *Sounds a lot like waking life eeey?
Well anyway dream signs are often a way around reality checks. Try to find a reoccurring theme, person place...sign. When a sign is prevalent in your waking or dreaming life, try to associate that in conjunction with your reality checks.

If your dreams are that close to Reality, then why the concern to Lucid Dream?

You see, Lucid Dreams are only a stage toward Dream Maturity. Those who have disjointed and primitive Dreams need to go through a period of Lucid Dreaming in order to bring Order out of Chaos.

But if all of your dreams are coherent and quasi-real, then you may be beyond the need for Lucid Dreaming.

And look at it this way... Lucid Dreaming is nearly always disruptive. There you are in a Dream when suddenly you go Lucid. Well, what happens then? Even when the Lucid Dreamer does not disrupt everything will attempts to blow everything away with Control, then there is typically some change to the dream behaviors. Even I have my Lucid Dream Check Lists which guarantee that when I go Lucid I will instantly disrupt the continuity of whatever Dream had been transpiring.

So it is that the Higher Dream Mind may resist one's efforts to go Lucid, particularly if the Higher Dream Mind thinks that it already has a fairly good Dream Program set up for the Individual Concerned.

So ask yourself whether your dreams have been all that inconsequential and trivial. Has your Higher Dream Mind been letting you down with weak and inconseuential dreams? Well, if so, you should set up something of a Auto-suggestion or Auto-hypnotic program to communicate these concerns to your Higher Dream Mind. You should complain to your Higher Dream Mind that in exchange for its blocking you from Lucid Dreaming, that it should invest in you dreams of vividness and interest enough to compensate you.

And if your dreams do seem so 'real', I think that you are well in vicinity where your dreams may also be relevent and important without the addition that they also be Lucid.

...It's not 100%. It works 100% for me, but not for my friend at camp. I was teaching him to VILD, and he managed to do it successfully. He got into the dreamscape he was imagining, but when he pinched his nose and breathed in, he couldn't breathe in. He eventually got lucid after but I was suprised when he told me it didn't work.

Now that was one of the worst sentences I have ever had to read. I strongly suggest that you read the "Spelling and Grammar" sticky-post at the top of the "Newbie" section... you sounded nigh on retarded!

Megabenman,
are you sure that your friend is sure? ) It seems quite logical as your subconscious often reflects your physiology state to your dreams (e.g. if you have full bladder you are dreaming about looking for a bathroom etc.). So I guess it should be the same for breathing. But i have no experience.

Can sameone else say his/her experience here please?

Yeah, it worked for me a couple of times (100% success rate though).

Sorry, Farsight. It's just that when you use nice punctuation we can get a better understanding of what it is you want us to understand, and it is less painful to the eyes.

As waves of plastic fame go out of fashion, You're going out (going out) forever unknown. These waves of plastic fame go out of fashion, You're going out (going out) forever unknown.

From above a rain of ashes descends anathema. I will remain, forever will remain. From below, in my seclusion, look up to the sky to see See paper wings and watch them burn.
