I have been reading up on Lucidity for a little while now. Last night I was trying to WILD and I wanted to know if what I experienced was indeed the beginning of a WILD (I eventually gave up because I became rather uncomfortable and was getting frustrated). I was in my be lying for who knows how long. Eventually I began to see what I think may have been Hypnogaeic Imagery (flashing lights, colors: mainly blue, etc...) Also, I started to get a tingling in my fingers which eventually turned into a numbness in my arm and then my legs to a lesser extent. At one part I started to experience what I think were rems (i became slightly excited and my heart began beating faster which I think brought me out of it a little). Anyways, I dont think I ever encountered SP because I feel that I could have moved my limbs or opened my eyes at any time. Anyways, was this the beginning of falling asleep/a WILD.
God Bless and thanks in advance for any help.

Unfortunately tingling in the arm and numbness are not a symptom of WILD. Even if you take this one step further where numbness turns into weightlessness (where you cant tell for sure which way your palms are pointing and where your arms are in relation to your body) is still not a sign of a LD. It is a sign of poor blood circulation caused by laying immobile for a long time.

Normally when we dream we toss and turn. The "Sleep paralysis" means that your normal pathways of controlling your body are cut off, but the body may still move involuntarily taking care of the circulation problem.... But if you lay in your bed as a log without moving you get this tingling sensation...

Dont worry about it, a bit more practice and you will get it.

I do not think you were expericaning a WILD (just yet). However you seemed to be teatering over the edge. Try to relax more, I can not stress this enough. If you are not relaxed, you should forget about it altogether.

I like to take deep breaths and imagen that my body is slowly dissapearing, from the feet to my head.

Once the imagery starts to kick in, pay no attention to the meanings, just follow the changes untill you drift out.

Continue reading on the WILD technique and make sure your steps in inducing it are not flawed.
