What ho chaps! I like this forum cos you guys aren't stuffy like a lot of other dream sites I've been to. I'm a pretty deep chick who dreams an awful lot. I sleep a lot too. Deep tho I may be I'm not stuffy. A lot of weird stuff has happened to me all my life but I'm not going to start thinking in Latin. I like to have fun in the midst of this amazing universe. Sometimes my dream states scare the bejeezus out of me, even when I'm awake and have to go the loo.
So what else...um, I'm a singer/songwriter ( I hate that term but it's the only one that fits). Check out some my tunes on www.myspace.com/pennynixon . Do pop by to say hi!
My dreams give me a lot of songs. I'm not an adept at lucid dreaming. I've had number but haven't really progressed past the, "Oh shit I'm dreaming and this is too weird! Shit Shit!!" stage but I'm trying my best. If only I could remember all the good advice when I'm in that state.
Same with oobe's although I can actually control them slightly better. I emphasize slightly.
Saw a cool thing on www.consciousmedianetwork.com Check out Hazel Courteney.
Anyhoo Hello!!!

Haha. You seem like a really cool chick. Welcome to DV.

I'm an artist that gets a lot of my inspiration from my dreams, also, so I can relate on that note. But yeah, we're all pretty down to earth here, for the most part, so I'm sure you'll have a great time. Go ahead and use the Search, Tutorials and ask around if you have any questions that we might be able to help you out with.

Hi Penny

It's great when our dreams can inspire us to create something in our "material" world, isn't it! I'm curious, do you end up hearing or composing the music IN your dream or do you compose the music ABOUT the dream?

I'm asking because if you find yourself composing or hearing the music IN your dream, you could try to use music itself as a dreamsign. I've had numerous dreams in which I was either enjoying or performing music and since I'm a musician in waking life as well, it's difficult to "catch" myself in dreaming. BUT, it is pretty cool when you can pull the experience out of your dream and actually recreate some of what you heard.

Yes you're right. I hear the music. I had one bout my song Conscience City. I was totally working it out and woke myself up mid dream to write it on my 8 track but I was still dreaming. Woke myself up properly to write it. That's a good way to say it too..dream sign. I like that.
The only thing about using music for me tho is that every time I hear music in my dream I want to write it.
But yeah I've noticed that the phone will ring in a dream or that the doorbell will go and I realise I'm dreaming. Then everything becomes so real but quite often it freaks me out.
I guess b'cos in waking life I feel like I'm always on the cusp of becoming dreaming awake. I don't know why I'm so fearful.
I've walked into dreams in waking life lots of times and it was wonderful. Really need to conquer my fear.

Hey Penny!

Such enthusiasm you bring with you ^^ Yeah you're right about this forum, everyone here is friendly and mellow. I've never seen such a chilled-out forum anywhere on the internet It's so great that you can get songs from you dreams I work a lot with music myself and one thing that I REALLY liked about lucid dreaming was the fact that some ppl can practise in their dreams! I haven't succeeded at that yet but I háve been busy remember a certain piece on the guitar in my dream ^^ By the way, what's wrong with the term singer/songwriter? You can still have your own unique style The songs sound great!

Anyways, welcome to the forum! Hope you get a lot of information from here and make some friends in the meantime ^^

- Thom

p.s.: What's 'deep' about your chickness? I don't know what that word means in that context :$

Like your photo Eminence. You look like a lovely "chick" !
Had another dream this afternoon where I came up with another toon. Woke myself up singing, " I've got the cure for cancer" !! I'd better go out now and patent it .
Anyway, look forward to getting to know you.

Hey Penny,

Welcome to DreamView! Like you, I'm excited to try to apply any control I can gain over my dreams to a practical sphere - mastering french, writing poetry, expanding consciousness. Please keep us posted about the successes (and failures) you may have with the application of LD. I'll be interested to read.
