a couple of questions to start me off...

      first of all hello everyone

this is turning out to be abit long... maybe i should'nt have posted on the newbie forum but i dont know so i'm gonna leave it here...

i've had some weird dreams in the past year and was introduced to the subject of lucid dreaming from another forum a few days ago
anyway when ever i attain contiosness in a dream (realize i'm dreaming) i wake up soon after (usualy its becouse i get too excited and also becouse most of the times it involves sex... lets say i'm not too expirianced with that subject (i'm 22 years old) so its not hard to tell i'm dreaming when there's sex or anything like that in a dream... (actualy its not really sex... its always the possibility that its going to happen and then i wake up)
      sad but true

anyway i was wondering if anyone has any suggestion regarding this?
anything i can practice in order not to wake up when i realize i'm dreaming (and aspecially while dreaming about sex... its very thrustrating!!! )

another question... i take a long time to fall asleep... will "mastering" the art of lucid dreaming help me with that?
can WILD/MILD be sucssesfully used everynight?

and also i've read this passage from the lucid instettiute FAQ-
and was wondering if anyone can direct me or maybe even explain what exectly "REM rebound" is and how it effects dreams (being that i smoke cannabis almost everyday...)

"Many prescription drugs as well as marijuana and alcohol alter the sleep cycle, usually by suppressing REM sleep. This leads to a phenomenon called "REM rebound," in which a person experiences intense, long REM periods after the drug has worn off. This can manifest as nightmares or, possibly, as lucid dreaming, since the brain is highly active. Drugs in the LSD family, including psilocybin and tryptamines actually stimulate REM sleep (in doses small enough to allow sleep), leading to longer REM periods."

      thanks in advance

      simisu

      Welcome to the forum.. simisu..

I don't have a clue about anything on drugs so I apologize that I cannot answer your questions in regards to drug usage and Lucid Dreaming.

Yeah I've seen what you posted up there. I didn't feel the need to try to give you schooling on sexual experiences since there isn't any real excuse why you're 22 years old and never been laid. Its pretty self explanatory how about try tagging a little Ass sometimes and then, you should retain your Lucid capabalities longer when it involves your desires in a sexual dream.

Okay Simisu... You're trying to hold Lucidity longer right? but you keep waking up prematurely during dreams that involve sex right? And the reason you are waking prematurely is because you're getting to excited when the moment comes and you are about to Tap some serious Ass in your dreams right? And you are not very experienced with intercourse, am I pretty much on the right track here?

Well its simple really. Im serious about this, If you have a girlfriend simisu.. you should be hittin that ass like a home run in the 9th inning.. See once you get used to sexual experience in real life you will not get as excited to have it in your dreams, thus, you wouldn't wake yourself prematurely everytime a hot babe turns up naked in front of ya?

Let me ask you this question. Do you usually wake up with a bonner after those types of dreams?

      Apart from sexual experiences...

i take a long time to fall asleep... will \"mastering\" the art of lucid dreaming help me with that? [/b]
      No.

can WILD/MILD be sucssesfully used everynight? [/b]
      Yes.

and was wondering if anyone can direct me or maybe even explain what exectly \"REM rebound\" is and how it effects dreams (being that i smoke cannabis almost everyday...) [/b]
Um, you just anwsered it yourself:

\"Many prescription drugs as well as marijuana and alcohol alter the sleep cycle, usually by suppressing REM sleep. This leads to a phenomenon called \"REM rebound,\" in which a person experiences intense, long REM periods after the drug has worn off. This can manifest as nightmares or, possibly, as lucid dreaming, since the brain is highly active. Drugs in the LSD family, including psilocybin and tryptamines actually stimulate REM sleep (in doses small enough to allow sleep), leading to longer REM periods.\" [/b]
      Nutshell:
You don't get REM on drugs/alcohol. You stop using drugs/alcohol. You get lots of REM.

      well...
first off i want to say its obviuse to me (and WAS) befor i asked my question... i know that having some sex will help me with that... but i'm not having sex am i? (nor do i turn to dreaming for my sexual plesure... if thats what you're thinking!)
i dont wish to discuss why right now... it has nothing to do with my qustion!
i came to this forum inorder to learn more about lucid dreams and the technique's used to echive them NOT to learn about sex!

and to answer your qestion... i'm not sure...

anyway i've got loads more aspects of my dreams to ask about but i wanted to start with this cuz i thought it'd be a good way to learn...

and kaniaz i ment a better explanation (like an artical on "REM rebound" and exectly how it effects dreaming)

I looked, I googled, I yahooed but I did not find. I cannot conjure up something that dosen't exsist. That's the best I could get.

REM (rapid eye movement) is a stage in sleep where your eyes move about exploring your dream worlds. It's also when you have dreams. Therefore rem rebound= more dreamtime and perhaps waking up feeling quite different.

      Welcome to the forums.

      Yea welcome to the forums!

Listen I think you answered a lot of your own questions, and I think what ShadowNightWing says about the sex dreams is right.

You will always wake up during those kinds of dreams if you are inexperienced with it in real life. That's how it works.

As a general rule, most people who are new to LDs wake up early during their dreams because they get too excited. The one sure thing to stop those premature awakenings is to become more experienced over time, so you don't get too excited.

As for the question about drugs. I don't know, I don't use them. I also never read about the subject except at the site you quoted.

      well... thanks everyone...
i guess maybe i thought there was more to it?
i thought maybe if anyone expirianced this befor and dealt with it him self he could suggest i try do something while in the dream... so yeah maybe its just patiance and expiriance?

lately while using cannabis i've remmbered some early stuff (early childhood dreams expiriances and feelings) and when i tried the MILD i found it much more easy to consentrate then when not stoned...
i'm not sure how it relates to actually remmbering what i dreamt but i did not find/feel any diffrance then a regular "clean" night
i've started a dream notebook and it was rather easy to remmber what i dreamt last night... its just a matter of where you direct your consentration... if its on trying to remmber (i need to check how to spell this word ) a dream i see no reason for it not to work... that's just how i feel anyway
i will try this while not stoned and check if i feel any diffrent regarding to how easy it is to remmber my dreams and how many sceans i can remmber per night (but that'll take me some time... i'm still a "novice" and i got lots more to work on and write in my notebook befor i can actually deduct anything from it)

      thanks again...
and as i've already mentioned i've got loads more questions and thoughts to share so i hope i can contribute...

      good night and sweet dreams

well... now that i got time...

i wanted to ask how it feels when you have a lucid dream?
cuz i remmber once when i was little i had a dream or it actualy happend (i'm not sure and i'm trying to figure it out...)
when i woke up in the middle of the night but kept my eyes closed then i wanted to go to the bathroom or something but when i stood up there was a wall infront of me (or it was a closet or something) so i started to walk sideways inorder to pass it and go out of the room but couldnt so i figured i'd turn around but there was only the bed and the other wall
i'm not sure what happend next but i remmber the strange feeling i had...
furthermore i remmber waking up at night for no reason really and starting to walk in the corridor and there's a deep inner "voice" my voice maybe its really strong but i cant make out what its saying and for some reason there's a strong ominus feeling as well... but it does not make sense to me... i know i'm home and its like i cant advance further this voice keeps scaring me...

now all this used to happen a LONG time ago! (it happend a number of times) and i'm trying to figure out wather it really happend or it was just a lucid dream...
also on a side note i have to say that i've "heard" this voice when i was awake alot of times... its more a feeling the a voice.... its like the feeling is so strong that i can hear it (its hard for me to explain)

About how it feels: it's rapture.

I usually wake up feeling engergized, like i have had twice the amount of rest.
