Newby says hello... question about state testing, too

One big hello goes out to everyone. You all rock. I've been hooked on rummaging through this board for the past coupla days learning all sorts of cool things.

Everything about lucid dreaming floors me. I've only had a couple in my life. My first was a few years back after reading some of LaBerge's stuff on the internet. I didn't know what it was at the time, but it was a WILD. Coolest. Dream. Ever. It happened right when I went to bed, too. All the crazy vibrations and noises and lights... almost like going through a tunnel. Then I jumped out of bed and flew through the walls and outside. Only lasted for a few minutes, though. It's insane how I can still remember the vivid details...

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello.... so I could get my very own free introductory dancing banana / orange that all the newbies get.

Here's a question, while I'm at it. I'm a really deep sleeper and I'm having quite a hard time with doing reality checks when I'm asleep... I do them in the day time but I haven't been able to do one at night yet. How did you all get good at state testing?

      Hello,

Welcome to the forum Moodrops! :aphiusisonecrazySOB:

You seem to have done your research on this board! I proudly give you your first orange! I'm sure you'll have a banana in no time!

Also to do reality checks in your sleep, I think that it just takes a lot of time.
Do you keep a dream journal? If you do you should look for dreamsigns, those would help you.

      If not, Start.
These are the tears that I dream about...

Welcome to the board. It's good to have someone interested...especially teh noOoOobs!

Do state testing(reality checks) every time something doesn't quite seem right in waking life, and hopefully it should become normal in dreaming life.

P.S. I have family from Montana...and my mom is from up there too. So i'm like half monatanan.

      Whooo!! WILD!!!

SWEET! I'm up to 5 bananas and an orange. Doesn't get much better than that.

I'll bet if you wore some sort of LCD screen sleep mask with that dancing banana on it you'd hypnotize yourself in no time.

Although... if things went wrong... a nightmare with that thing wouldn't be fun. It has feet. Pointy feet. And there'd be like 5000 of them marching at you.... shudder....

Aphius: Yup, I'm keepin' a dream journal. It's freakin' hilarious to go back and read.

Seeker: I don't know what cartoon, but I always thought Montana looked dang good with seven extra O's. I probably did see the cartoon, anyway... grew up on a steady diet of them.

Maybe posting on the board put some sort of suggestion in my head, because when I tried to WILD last night it actually worked! Whoooo! All I did was wander around in my house, which was an exact replica of my real house. I chewed on a plastic mug for a bit and was amazed at how real it all was.

I tried to command it to be daylight outside, but it didn't work. Anybody able to do this? It probably didn't work for me because I thought it wouldn't work. So I decided to fly instead and woke up.

Oh yeah, before the lucid state I had the crazy rushing sounds and vibrations and stuff. As soon as I could, I started spinning as much as I could. I even visualized myself rolling down a hill in a garbage can. I've heard spinning can help you once you're inside of a dream, but what about when you're just about there? Has anyone tried this?

      Hey there, Moondrop, Welcome!
Congradulations on the Lucid dreams.... *envy*

I would suggest something about adoptation, but seeing as even a n00b is more experienced at Lucid Dreaming then me, I'm giving up all hope....

HI Maybe because you are such a deep sleeper you could set an alarm to wake you up at the appropriate time during the night. then try some tecniques.

      Thanks for your tips everybuddy.

CT: Don't worry... I guess I only count as a half n00b, 'cause I've been practicing the techniques on and off for the past 4 months

Paperdoll: Nope, I don't think it was an OBE... I forgot to mention that I'm in college, and I was wandering around my 60 miles away house. Hehe

Seeker: Oh man. I forgot all about that cartoon... but now the memories are all comin' back.

WerBurN Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhh Caaaaaaaanada!! Hey, neighbor! (Since I'm in MT and all)
