Hello everyone. I recently came across this site during one of my journeys into wikipedia, so I decided to join. I have always loved lucid dreaming. I do keep a dream journal, though I don't write in it as much as I should. I was able to have lucid dreams almost every night when I was younger, but I have lost that ability over the years. I am now trying to get them back, because hey, lucid dreams are awesome.

I still have them every once in a while, but its more due to a randomness than skill. I do have pretty good dream recall because thankfully I never lost that. My dreams are... surreal at best. The problem I have is that I have been dreaming like this for so long that the moon gravity or random scenery change doesn't seem abnormal. I usually end up just going with the dream, because it seems too "normal" to be one, even though there are dream signs all over the place. On the rare occasion that I do realize I am dreaming I usually go through a false awakening (although I tend to wake up somewhere completely unrealistic, it doesn't seem abnormal and I just go with the dream again), a real awakening, or I sort of think "Oh, I am dreaming. Cool." and continue to go with the dream. If none of those things happen the dream will usually go haywire. I actually had a floor tilt on me yesterday when I realized I was dreaming. I slid down the floor, through a wall, into a void beyond that wall, and then woke up (I didn't gain control fast enough I guess ).

When I DO manage to go lucid and stick around in the dream, altering it can be tricky. Things tend to go back to what they were originally once I stop concentrating on keeping them changed. I actually had a dream character laugh at me when this happened once, but I love irony so I was able to laugh with him. Its not nearly as frustrating as it sounds, thankfully.

So anyway, I guess this is a bit long-winded. Sorry about that, but this is one of my favorite topics and not nearly enough people are open to talking about dreams where I live. Happy dreaming, everyone.

W'sup, Lord Mustard? Welcome to Dream Views.

Always nice to have another natural around. I lost my ability to do it back in middle school and picked it up a couple of years after, so at least you know you can get it back. Heh.

If you have any questions, ask around. Those of us in Green are Dream Guides, and will try to help out with any questions you may have. But, pretty much everyone around here is willing to give you help, if they can.

      Later.

Hey Mustard, great to have you with us!

Yah, the way our brain's rational thinking just goes into a complete shutdown during dreams is a real bitch. We all struggle with that and it's not just you that's been dreaming this way for so long, I think it goes way back to the days when we were stubmling around on all fours.

Still, you're in a great place to practice your enthusiasm with lucid dreaming - it's something that tends to catch on to some others who go through dry spells every now and then.

Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures.
