      Greetings to all!

My Name is Zeljko Filipovic (A.K.A the Green_Man). Im 18 and Im a Croatian from South Africa, currently living in Canada (A culture shock believe me&#33. Im in Canada to persue university studies and am interested in Archaeology and ancient historical studies.

I have always had an immense interest in the workings of the human mind and its influences on our existence, however I have never given much thought to lucid dreaming. Then about a month ago I experienced a lucid dream and then another one about a week ago. I am still wondering what triggered it though I have some idea. Around that time I met an individual who told me that he experienced regular lucid dreams and we had some lengthy conversations on the topic. I assume that the hearing about it from him triggered the thought patterns in my mind? I would appreciate any insight on the issue as I would truly like to experience it again and am more or less ignorant on the technical aspect of the issue.

there are also some other things that I would appreciate ligh shed on(please bare with my pestering):

Can someone dream of having a lucid dream, while not actually experiencing one?

I felt really slow and almost depressive after I awoke, is this normal?

I started off in a normal dream and it became lucid when I died on the first dream and "awoke" in my bed, thus begining the lucid dream. Is this the normal route from dreams to lucid dreams?

Thank you for any imput on the issue and I hope that i will become a regular member of your fine forum.

P.S I am also up for adoption so to speak, and would be grateful for advice and tutoring from an "experienced dreamer"

      Your Sincerely
      Alex "Green_Man" Filipovic

hi and welcome to dream views and holy crap! south africa to canada? i believe u on the culture shock thing lol. here is my opinion on your questions

      1. yes i think that when your friend told you about it that is what gave you one. I had a similar expeirece. I had my first lucid dream a couple of weeks after reading about it on this site. maybe your mind gets curious on what it would be like and eventully trys it for itself? i dont know.

      2. i dont think it is possible to dream of having a lucid dream and not actully experience it. cause you know you are dreaming in the dream of a dream. however when you woke up from the dream of a dream, you probably would not be lucid, ending the lucidity

      3. ive never been slow or depresive after having one, only happy but i dont know how most people are after so maybe im just the irregular one lol.

      4. there is no normal way to start a lucid dream! you can start out from the begining lucid, just become lucid spontaniously, have a false awakinging get you lucid, reality checks could get you lucid too!

well hoped this helped ya! and good luck
      Total lucid dreams=88

Hmm, I can't say I've ever felt down or depressed after I awoke from an LD - quite the opposite, actually. Maybe it was the content of the dream - do you remember what it was about?

You can enter in an LD is almost countless ways. Sometimes you'll just suddenly realize you're dreaming, and other times lucidity is a product of a false awakening, which you may have experienced with this one.

As soon as you've been a member for 2 weeks, you can be officially adopted by a member. See the Adoption Guidelines for details. In the meantime, get familiarized with the forum, and don't hesitate to ask questions and participate in threads. The 2 weeks will fly by!

      Good luck and have fun!

An dream where you're aware of being dreaming is a lucid dream. I know what you mean though, I've had dreams where I knew I was dreaming, but only in the back of my mind, and I never knew I could control the dreams or anything like that. So basically it was like watching a movie, knowing it was a dream.

      Weird, huh?

      Anyway, welcome to DV!

It was definetly not a pleasant dream. I travelled through an apartment building, killing and torturing people. Thats what makes me question whether it really was a lucid dream, or me dreaming of having a lucid dream. Do you think that even possible?

      P.S
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!

When it comes to dreaming, I've come to see that almost anything is possible! I think I've read about people dreaming about being in a lucid dream, but I can't think of any good reference threads to point you to right now. I'm sure you felt depressed when you woke up because of what you were dreaming about - that's enough to depress anyone!
