Hi everyone,

This is xDjFx here. I discovered this site after looking for stuff on the internet on lucid dreaming. I've been reading this forum for a couple of weeks now and haven't got around to making an introduction.. so here it is. I've also got a couple of questions that I would be happy if someone could point me in the right direction for.

How can I practise to have lucid dreams if I've only ever had them at random?

I remember having a couple of lucid dreams in the past but they were both nightmar-ish

I'll tell you one~

One was about me being in some kind of old house with stained glass windows and all. I was with a couple of people ~ i think a couple strangers and some of my family. Anyway I was walking around with them for a while and at that point I realised it was a dream and that I could control myself. So I decided what most people would do.. jump out the nearest window ? Anyway I didn't feel myself hurt or anything just a slight bump like falling onto one of those gym mats ~ even though in my dream I had fallen on to grass from two stories of a building. I woke up at that point. But I have aquestion on that.

How can we have a lucid dreams about things we haven't experienced ~ like being killed (the most obvious) etc..??

Also

If I died in a lucid dream is there a chance of me actually dieing in real life?
Because can't we fool our minds to thinking something is so real and our bodies will just stop working accordingly to the dream..?

oh yeah and

Can anyone here tell me the easiest way for me to get a lucid dream ~ me being a noob and all

I've tried doing WILD but it just doesn't seem to work for me. Either my mind gets distracted or I just forget what I'm doing (help?)

THANKS

Hi welcome to Dream Views i just joined recently also and to answer your questions.

How can I practice to have lucid dreams if I've only ever had them at random?

Well, firstly you need to develop good dream recall if you haven't already
and secondly you need to start recording all your dreams in a Journal
and start doing reality checks

start by reading the tutorituls and finding one you like then just practice it and ask questions.

Your mind makes up what it thinks it will be like. Lets say that you have never been to a big city before, you can still have a dream about it though cause of all the movies and pictures you have seen.

nope. tons of people have died/killed themselfs in their dreams and live to tell us the expeirence.

Thanks soo much everyone for clearing my questions up

I look forward to having many lucid dreams!

I tried having a CILD last night ~ lol ~ I didn't eat much chocolate cause I don't want to get fat but anyway I got a dream ~ I could remember. I usually can't.. maybe as some things suggest ~ just erase the dream as I have more important things on my mind.. exams..

Anyway, thanks a bunch and I look forward to become a part of already welcoming group.

I've died in a lucid dream before. It sucked, I was shot in the stomach. I was in a red theatre place (inside had long red ribbons from the cieling down) and I went to the bathroom. In one of the stalls was a man who jumped out. His name was Harry. How did I know his name? No idea, never seen the man in my entire life. He had long strawberry blond hair (long meaning shoulder length), was tall and thin. He gave me some shot in my arm and I still managed to push him off. I started running out and suddenly my legs wanted to stop moving. I fell on the ground, having difficulty to talk and Harry came over my fallen self, with everyone else watching, and shot me. The pain was excruciating but stopped quickly as I felt myself doze to sleep.

I don't know how I dreamt that though. I didn't force myself. I'm new here too but one thing I think most people already know about me is yes, I do control my dreams sometimes, but I almost always never choose. I know I'm dreaming and I like to just sit back sometimes. I've learned tot ake the bad nightmarish ones too (like being shot). I can make myself enter into a lucid world but after that I'll let everything else take its course.

I'd try this though, this sometimes works for me if I'm in the mood to fly or something. Lay in bed and when you feel yourself start to drift think about related things. I'd think about my old big backyard for flying, because there was a lot of room for it. I'd think of birds, asking them to teach me. I'd hear my own voice in my head ask.

Or, if you're wanting to experience lucid death, think of what you want to die from. Think of a man's voice, but not what he looks like. Give him a beginning dialogue and a voice. Listen to it. I mean REALLY listen to it, like you're listening to the tv but not watching it. Make it feel like you're not giving him the beginning dialogue. This is, if you're wanting some man to murder you.
