Hey there, I recently read about LD through wikipedia, and it made me remember something from when I was younger (around 5, I think?). Anyway, I'm 15 now.

I remember two specific dreams, where I seemed to be 'aware' that I was dreaming. I could actually, quite clearly think what I was doing through the dream (although my memory is a bit foggy now), but I remember being very small, and being under a cot in a childs bedroom. There were other people (I don't know who), but I was going around a few rooms in the house with them. But the bit that makes me think I had control of the dream was the way that I woke up - I had to go under the bed where I started, and count to ten. It was then that I'd wake up, and I remember having these dreams three or more times.

I was wondering if this was a lucid dream, or just my imagination! I did read on the wikipedia article that children can find it easier to become lucid.

Anyway, I want to try again, it would be really cool!

Over the past three days I've been following a few of the tutorials on this site of how to become lucid, and starting by improving my 'dream recall'. Let me get this right - is this just where you are able to remember your dreams for longer periods of time? If so, the tutorials have really helped - I had a dream last night that I can quite clearly remember, although it was more of a nightmare. Bear in mind that I woke up 13 hours ago, and I can never normally remember dreams as clearly as this!

I started off in the high street of the town that I live in, and I was looking at the shops. I can't remember the time of day or anything, other than I was with my mum. I told her that I was looking for some shorts, and she said I could get some if I found some. So I saw this shop called.. "Shorts" I was going to go inside, but it looked too 'trendy' for me, so we walked on a bit.
Further on in the arcade there was another shop, called 'GAP Shorts' . I thought that it would be a bit better - I noticed that the sign on the door was actually just an A4 piece of paper somebody had printed out and stuck to it - actually it looked more like an entrance to a flat. My mum said she was going to wait outside when I went in. Well (and here's the disgusting bit&#33 There was a large, circular room, with a round hole in the middle (I don't know what it was for). The floor was covered in bird faecaes, and I remember it smelling of ****! But there were large pidgeons and chicken type animals around the roof, and horrible as it sounds, they were being sick into troughs, which fed into three plastic pipes.. with open ends which were following me around the room.. It was horrible, and seems like something out of a horror movie. There was also this random woman who was just standing in front of me, watching. She had no expression, and just stared at me. I didn't do anything, because I knew there was nothing I could do.[/b]
Well, that dream eversoslightly dodgy! I don't know if this is normal, but I also remember having two other (shorter?) dreams before that one:

One where I picked my gran up from the supermarket [/b]
And

There's this woman at our school canteen who serves deserts.. but nobody likes her, she almost throws them at you when she's putting them out. Well anyway, in this dream I was in the canteen at my old school, and she was there, being really nice to me! Anyway, that was weird..[/b]
So basically, my dreams are weird. Sorry if I bored you to death, and/or scared you - you didn't have to read them!

Any help or advice to get me started would be appreciated. And answers to the above questions!

Hi RetepNamenots! :yumdumdoodledum: WELCOME

I think every one's dreams are often weird. So your not alone.
I am surprised how many people are gaining insight to lucid dreaming via wikipedia. What ever the method..cool!

Once you are aware what a lucid dream can and does consist of, I think it will be less vague if you have one.
That is in response to your earlier dreams. They may have. But you not knowing the difference changes things.

But it is pretty evident most of the time when you are lucid. You feel conscious like you do as you would in an everyday event.

Hey there, uh, Peter maybe?

Welcome to DreamViews! It sounds like you might be somewhat of a "natural" at lucid dreaming -- it's great that you found our site; it seems that it's easier for people to develop this ability while they are still young. And it sounds like you're on the right track, what with reading the Tutorials and recalling your dreams better. Just keep it up, and don't hesitate to ask question!
