Hey everybody.
I've been reading the articles and tutorials on this site from time to time (best lucid dreaming related website btw! and I thought I get my ass in here and post some with you other fellow lucid dreamers.
I believe I was able to lucid dream when I was like around 12 or something, I can still remember some great dreams from that time. Some very long ones. I could wake up and then go back to sleep and continue where I left off.
I read a book written by somebody called Carlos Castaneda (or something like that) where it was said that if you could watch your hands in your dream you would be able to become lucid in it. I managed to do this once (this is like 5-6 years ago) and I know that atleast that was a genuine lucid dream because I became so excited I woke up after a few seconds. I remember trying to move while I was in that state and it felt like moving through thick water. I did many more attempts but never was I again able to have a lucid dream. Ofcourse I had not practiced dream recall or anything else at that point. All I knew was that I should try to look at my hands when I was in a dream.
But ever since I've been reading up on lucid dream recently I have yet not been succesfull in having one. I have followed the steps explained on this site, and I've been able to write down up to 4 dreams per night, but I still am not able to become lucid.
A dream sign I usually have is being unable to find a location or somebody I'm looking for. I don't really know how to use this, can't really make a connection to being lost, perhaps you guys have suggestions?
I have not done the reality check practice, but since I've been unsuccesfull so far I'm going to give it a shot.
Btw, is there a way I can change my display name on these forums? I did not want my display name to be lordhh, but I thought it would be my personal username. As my display name I would like Xerion if that is available.
Anyway, glad to be here and I'm eager to read up on your experiences and adventures!
/Xerion
