      Hey!!

Im new to LDing and in the past week or so I have been practicing dream recall with some rather interesting results! After spending a fair few hours looking over the site my dream recall has increased massivley over the last few days! and I am fairly sure that I have had a LD already but thats not why I am posting today.

I bought a diary 2 days ago intending to use it as a dream journal. After dreaming I tend to wake up as im a very light sleeper and make enteries into my dream diary. The problem is when I go to view my diary in the moring its blank and it turns out that I have just dream about writing in it. It may be that I have a false awakening or something I do not know but this has happened every night since I bought the diary and its dam annoying because I cant remember the dreams I have had that well.

My question is has anyone else experienced this and will it pass over time as I learn to reality check more often?

ANNOYING??? you sir, could be the luckiest man I know. just pinch your nose and see if you can breath while writing in your journal. (note... I mean the reality check, of course.) you'd be lucid everynight.

      Welcome to Dreamviews mark!!

Yup, that'd be a false awakening alrite. So what you do, is write in the journal about the false awakening, and make it that one of your dream signs

When ever you write in your journal, Reality Check, Reality Check, Reality Check!!! Always ask yourself when writing in your journal, "Am I dreaming? Is this real?" while you writing.

Thank for the advice! I will give it a try

oh and is it just a matter of continuously RCing through out the day to ensure I do it unconsiously? Im not sure how it works, would I not have to be lucid in order to check that im in a dream in the first place or by RCing thoughout the day would I be trainning myself to do it unconsiously? if you get what im mean because im kind of confusing myself ha ha

If I were you... I'd just practice opening my book and RCing... repeatedly. then when that part of your dream happens you check out of habit and are like "WOAH I'm LDing!"

Haha, I got it. Its a common question. But yes, RC throughout the day. When we dream, when we arent lucid, we think its real and normal like the world we ussually experience. We also still bring habits into the dream. Making a habit of RCing through out the day, you'll eventually do it in a dream.

RC when doing a specific action, you can make that a dream sign. So, both RC throughout the day, and ESSPECIALLY when opening and writing in your journal. The entire time always make sure to ask if your reality is real, and if your dreaming.
