Hi Stonehenge,

I prefer the WBTB method and then doing the MILD. They worked really well for me, now I just have DILDs though. I suggest waking up after 3 hours sleep so that you have just had your dream and a good amount of sleep.

Hope this helps

a good method to start out with is DILD so make sure to do your reality checks often! WBTB and a MILD like NeAvO said, got me a couple of lucids too.

I used to be soley DILD. When I was at my peak I could do it once a week easy.

Lately it's been getting harder, though. My mind is not giving me dream signs like it used to. So, I started doing WBTB. That woked with ok success for me. Maybe once every couple weeks.

After reading a lot about WILD, I have tried that for the past 3 weeks. I tried every night before bed, during naps, etc (taking more naps than usual, just to try it). Finally had one last night. Now that I know what to look for, I'm going to try it every night.

I have a feeling with enough commitment, WBTB trying to WILD would work best, but when really tired, it's hard to not just fall asleep. My WILD was right at bedtime. An hour later I woke up with the best feeling I've had in a long time having broke the WILD barrier.
Only the cinders remain as another night becomes a yesterday...

"false awakening induced LDs"

I had 2 or 3 WILD and around 6 DILD, but many more just started by a false awakening.
If you can get the habit of waking up (even briefly) after each REM period to note your dreams (or at least 3 times a night), I suppose you will get the habit of dreaming about waking up, too ! I set up my alarm clock "to be safe" but usually I wake up before it rings (by just setting my mind about it).
Then, I do a nose-plug RC every time I wake up. It became a reflex, so I can catch all FA and turn them in a LD.
Dec. 2006 - July 2007:
92 DILDs + 30 WILDs ; 75% too short, 24% decent, ~3 of 2 to 5 minutes
(I stopped counting after that)
