Hello everyone! I'd like to start by saying that this forum looks awesome! I'm 15 and live in Australia. I had never heard of lucid dreaming until we discussed it in philosophy class. I've had a few experiences with lucid dreams when I was little, but they were very poor quality. Out of these, only two I didn't wake up from after a few seconds, from the shock of realising I was in a dream. I would love to learn to WILD and/or DILD and before I knew much about DILDs, I attempted to WILD only to fall asleep after relaxing and seeing scenes and images. I have really bad dream recall and know that I dream, just can't remember them. So I have started to keep a dream diary, and last night had a dream which I pieced together bits that I had remembered during the day! So if anyone has any tips or experiences with their attempts at LDing I would love to hear!

for reading,
Ellie (2Fruits)

I have been practicing RCs throughout the day, and also have deemed my Lucid Ability Title to be Lucid Beginner (even though I have had a lucid dream before, it was so long ago I don't really remember it very well).

Hi 2Fruits, you're entering a wonderful new dimension of the mind, I hope you stay on this path of discovery because lucid dreams are totally awesome and people who think they aren't are sad in my subjective opinion.

Anyway, dream recall... The best thing I can think of to help with dream recall is to keep a journal. Keep a notepad by your bed and write down anything you can remember, however small, when you wake up.

Review what you've written, and keep some blank space under each dream because sometimes when you read it again you'll remember something else, which is a good idea to write down.

With luck this will improve your dream recall. Dream recall is vital to the LD process because, well, whats the point of a LD if you don't remember

As for your Dream Recall, Journalling, which you've already got covered, is the best way to improve it. There are many ways to help make it easier to document your dreams, such as attempting to wake up during REM sleep.

Hi, I agree with what they're saying; a dream diary really does help. It only takes about 10 days to get okay dream recall. I should know I'm doing it at the moment like you are. Also if you want to make a bar chart at the back with the weekdays along the bottom and number of dreams going up. It helps chart your progress and is quite an encouragement to see how well you're doing. Well, good luck.

Just a quick update...
I am having a bit of trouble with the dream recall, but I think it's slowly getting better. I can remember a dream every second day, but it's very sketchy. I did wake up last night (halfway through a very vivid dream) because I was cold, and put that in my dream diary. So at least I know I am capable of having very vivid dreams, I just have to remember them!
