Hey everybody, I heard about you on the Cyber Nations Forums, so I figured I'd join up and try the lucid dream thing.

I have a sort of problem, I don't remember any of my dreams. When go to sleep, I just wake up to my alarm like time just skipped. I don't remember anything. Is there a way I can prevent this? Also, I have never in my entire life realized I was dreaming in a dream. Never ever. Sometimes I do have those falling dreams, those are interesting.

      So, hi.

What helped me is repeating to myself: I will remember my dreams, over and over when I am lying in bed and if I trail off and begin another thought train I would spontaneously say it during the train.

Hey Lambda! Glad you finally made it!

By those falling "dreams," would you be refering to the Hypnic Jerks I covered over at CN?

I will try that tonight Cymek.
Exo, I just glanced through your topic, near the end where admin shared his.

Anyway, my falling dreams have been where I have been skateboarding somewhere (down a mountain, down the street, whatever) and I hit a rock and fall, and the split-second before I hit the ground, I wake with a start and slip back into sleep.
Also, I have had a dream where I was concious that I was sleeping and I really wanted to wake up, so I was telling myself, if I just move one appendage I can wake up and go about my business, just one appendage. I don't see anything here but dark. During this I am quite literally terrified, maybe that's what death is like, but you can't ever move.

Sounds exactly like a Hypnic Jerk. The experience is more or less a "half-dream." Its an involuntary muscle twitch, described as a falling sensation and/or a quick jolt. You'll commonly wake up to them.

Is there an explanation to the second half of the post, does that count as an LD?

      Ah right, sorry!

Also, I have had a dream where I was concious that I was sleeping and I really wanted to wake up, so I was telling myself, if I just move one appendage I can wake up and go about my business, just one appendage. Well, if you knew it was a dream, then yes, that was a Lucid Dreaming. Being aware that you are dreaming is all that is required for it to be a Lucid Dream. But, I can't tell if that was actually a dream or if you were just experiencing intense sleep paralysis. Maybe a bit of both. If your dreaming, it just sounds like a nightmare you can't wake up from. If thats the case, all you need to realize is that its your dream, and your in control. Believe you can do what you want, and instead of waking up, try to turn the scene to something more appealing. However, if you want to wake up, that would be the time I suggest closing your eyes

Normally its said never to close your eyes when Lucid Dreaming, as you'd wake up or at least lose Lucidity. If you really want to wake up, closing your eyes may help. For some reason it seems to affect our real eyes.

It might have been sleep paralysis. I knew my eyes were closed, but I had to will my arm to fall off the desk I was sleeping on and wake me up. Very odd. I never want another one of those.
