I guess my dad has lucid dreams all the time but didnt know anyting about them. My aunt does the same thing too but she believe it is a spiritual deal. I dont get into that spiritual crap*(and excuse me if i offend). I guess my dad has been fairly lucid since he went to the hospital and was put on pain killers. He also said that he even had a false wake up where he woke up back in our old appartment and flew around for a bit. Maybe it runs in my family.

Strange thing though is my mom can't dream. I never took he seriously but i guess my mom is dead serious when she says she can't dream. Has to suck! Any one else ever hear of or had this problem please respond.

A lot of people think they can't dream, but they all do. Dreams are a necessary part of sleep in all mammals, and we all have several dreams a night, assuming we don't get woken up immediately. However, people forget dreams easily, and some people don't recall any of their dreams, making it easy to think they don't have them.

My BF claims he doesn't dream. But he twitches like a dog in his sleep, and once he woke up and punched me; I was like WTF? and he said I thought there was a monster in the bed. So I think he does dream. But he claims he never remembers it. Any he thinks lucid dreaming is pure craziness.

Hey there and welcome to the forum Van

That's pretty cool about your dad being able to LD, maybe after you become a good enough LDer you will be able to have really cool conversations about it. Like every one has said, people do have dreams, they have to have them as the body needs to process everything while you dream.

Well if you need any information you should go to the Tutorials Section. This has everything you need in it.

Well good luck and have fun.

Well that, and i fyou even awake during every dream you have, once you go back to sleep your mind compensates for REM sleep by going straight into it. Same thing with lack of sleep. If you lack sleep, even when you nap you may go straight into REM with extremely intense dreams, though I'm not sure if you can control them. It's like water. The more dehydrated you are, the more water you need. The less REM sleep you get, the more you need.

I wonder, if you dont sleep for a night and then sleep for like 12 hours... hmm. My guess is that somewhere this issue is addressed.
