1.) Does it matter if your dream recall isn't that great when attempting a WILD?

2.) When I try to WILD I focus on my breathing. I sit on my back, arms to my side, and I breathe in through my nose. In my head I count "1", every inhale, and say "I am dreaming" on exhale. I find, however, that my mouth fills with salivia as I'm counting (even in my head), and then I'm forced to swallow, which I think ruins the progress. Does anyone else find that they continuosly have to swallow, and it ruins their focus? What should I change?

3.) Should you or shouldn't you:

      a) Think about what you want to lucid dream about.

      b) Expect and/or await to see HI.

      c) Stay up for less than 30 min. before trying a WILD. Personally I find that it's easier to fall back to sleep, but most tutorials recommend staying up longer than 30 min. What should I look for in order to find an amount of time that fits me?

-Hopefully these questions will help others as well as myself. Please feel free to suggest what works best for you involving these topics. Thanks.

Hey! Personally, whenever I attempt WILD, I use the sound induction method. If you want to know about that go here:

It is also a great source for all other methods. As for that thing about having to swallow all the time while trying to WILD, I have the same problem. I don't know what causes it, and it has ruined many of my WILD attempts. Anyway, good luck w/ your WILDs.

Hiya! I've done WILD a fair bit, so I feel safe in answering your questions.
      1. When LDing, it always matters when recall isn't great, but do not let that deter you from attempting. Start keeping a dream journal. It will help.
      2. Little things like swollowing can get in the way. I find, that as soon as I lay down to WILD, my lips feel dry and I have to put on some chapstick, and ten my mouth feels dry and I need some water. My only suggesstion is to work at ignoring these things. Concentrate on dreaming, and zoning everything out. Meditate everyday..It will help you get into the habit of being in control of your focus. Practice makes perfect!

      3. a. You should, but not when you are WILDing. Just focus on breathing, and on your awareness.
      b. Do not 'expect' anything. This will get in the way of your real task. Some people experience different things than most other people. Expecting certain things will really crap up your intentions of WILDing.
      c. You really just have to play with the time. Tweak the details until you find something that fits you. If 30 minutes is sufficent to wake your brain without making your body too awake, and you can easily fall back, then stick with it.

I hope that I have helped. If you need anything, you can always pm me.
      Shine on, you crazy diamond!
