Im new to posting but I've been reading these forums for a while. I'm wondering how to keep my lucid dreams without waking up. My dreams normally start non lucid until one of my friends mentions something about dreaming. I realise that I am dreaming so I decide to try doing things I cant normally do. Usually I grow wigns and start to fly but I cant keep in my dreams. I usually wake up or become no lucid. Any suggestiosn on how to keep lucid?

The best way to combat this problem, is to gain experience. This experience is exciting to you, and excitement or stress over whether you are going to wake up or not can really get in the way of this. Just make sure you are relaxed, try not to think about LDing as being exciting, and don't worry about it. You'll eventually overcome this.

Yup, it's perfectly normal, I used to have both problems myself. I only remember losing lucidity in a dream once, but I have woken up from the realization that I'm dreaming more times than I would like to think about. :( Just keep trying, eventually you'll stop losing lucidity and you'll be able to not wake up for long periods of time.

(Although setbacks are possible, just last night when I became lucid just standing in a green field and feeling the wind in my hair, absolutely gorgeous scenery, I stood there for like 10 seconds, not moving, not getting excited, just enjoying the moment and I woke up. I should have started spinning, but I never felt it coming until it was too late. I was like: "What the hell was that? I want my money back, I'm taking my business elsewhere!" And of course that was the only lucid dream I had last night too. :( Oh well, at least it was nice while it lasted and I'll be back tonight for more.) :)

By the way, do you know about spinning and rubbing your hands? Otherwise, read this: Prolonging Lucid Dreams
Only 33% of the flow technique lucid dreams were prolonged, compared with 90% of the rubbing and 96% of the spinning lucid dreams.[/b]
I've found you can even do it preemptively. In some of my first lucid dreams after I read about techniques and while my lucid dreams were still very rare, I remember starting spinning as soon as I realized I was having a lucid dream, then just repeated this regularly throughout the dream and it worked great, I got some pretty long lucid dreams from it. So if you find yourself in a lucid dreaming, thinking: "Damnit, now I'll probably wake up.", then start spinning like a crazy person. :)

I had another lucid dream last night and barely after becoming lucid I awoke. I haven't heard of the hand rubbing thing. I'll have to try it!

      Best wishes!
In the process of realizing the dream, abandon all feeling of fear; And, if the dream be of fire, transform the fire into water, the antidote of fire. And if the dream be of minute objects, transform them into large objects; Or if the dream be of large objects, transform them into small objects: Thereby one comprehendeth the nature of dimensions.
And if the dream be of a single thing, transform it into many things; Or if the dream be of many things, transform them into a single thing. - Tibet

I'm in the same boat with you... 4 lucids so far, and 2 were cut very short. Spinning is good though, I like to swing my arms into it and give it a jump (like a jumping spinnink kick without the kick). After a 720 I'm always curious (but not excited) to see what may have changed about my surroundings.
