Hi Crumbs, welcome to Dream Views.

I hated sleep paralysis when I had it. I couldn't stop it. It eventually died out on it's own after I took to seriously trying to lucid dream.

If you half wake up again, try to remember the dream you woke out of and tell yourself to slip back into it. You should be able to enter back into the dream totally lucid. SP is a great gateway to lucid dreaming if you can remember to remain calm and direct yourself back into a dream.

If you're just sick of SP all together, gently fiddle with your sleep schedule until you find the perfect number of hours of sleep for you. I think an adjusted sleep schedule can eventually rid you of SP.

Other than that, I don't know exactly how to avoid waking up half awake in SP, which means all the afore mentioned advice is probably useless to you.

Anyway, again, welcome and if my advice turns out to be totally useless... remember it's the thought that counts. I thought I might be able to help. I should get a gold star for trying.
