      Reality Checks

I've been having at least 2 dreams a night now, and I'm trying to do reality checks once in a while (in awake time), but I find it hard to think about because I know that if I'm awake, that I'm awake. In a dream however, I can't tell if I'm awake or dreaming (some dreams are so normal it's not even funny ). What can I do to convince myself that I might be dreaming? I also get very little HI when I'm sleeping, usually before I fall asleep it starts to feel like I'm sinking into my bed, and I see maybe a greenish colour kind of swirling in my eyes but sleep before anything happens. One last question, what is a good beginer technique for trying to LD?

Ones that seem to work for me:

Look at things that should be straight or at a right angle. They usually aren't and often aren't even static and act kind of wavy.

Try to put your hand through your other hand.

Carefully look at your hands. Do you have five fingers, don't just say it, actually count them. Make sure the normal creases are in your fingers and hand.

Look at things that have details: do you see a green ground, or blades of grass? Is that building's walls red or can you see individual bricks?

Something that I check but haven't done in a dream yet: touch my reflection through a mirror.

You have to do this a lot. I've drawn the letters "RC" on my wrist. Every time I look at it I do a reality check.

I like that RC wrist thing.

I might have to do that. Or tell myself every time I look at a clock I'll do one.
