If you want to control when you lucid dream, you should really performing reality checks frequently throughout the day. Reality checks are actions that have different outcomes in dreams than they do while you're awake. Based on their results, you can tell whether you're dreaming or awake, and if you get in a habit of doing them while you're awake, the habit will carry into your dreams, and cause you to have more lucid dreams. I reccomend you try numbers one and eleven on this list, as they're some of the most accurate and easy to do throughout the day.
To further increase your chance of lucid dreaming, try some of the techniques in the tutorials subforum. Mastering one or more of these can drastically increase your chance of lucid dreaming, and some allow you to lucid dream at well. You'll probably find that some work better for you than others, but if you try several, you'll find the one that works best for you soon enough.
