      i need some help

ok so for the past few nights ive been setting my intent to remember my dreams in the morning... because i have been having bad dream recall... so ive been trying for that and ive got nothing... then last night i set my intent to wake up after each dream i have... i figured id be able to remember them easier if i wake up right after, but i didnt wake up after any of them... then this morning when i woke up i remembered two dreams which is more than i have remembered in like a week... how did that work? is there any special trick to getting yourself to wake up after your dreams ? and im a heavy sleeper so could that make it more difficult for me to do that? any help would be appreciated

Well the trick to waking up after each dream is to repeat to yourself that you will wake up. Or you can use an alarm clock/ drink loads of water. There are many ways really.

You just need to keep at it and use a dream journal, sooner or later you will get there, just give it time.

I think this might have something to do with your subconscious too. I mean sometimes for me. If I have an important meeting, or I need to be up at a different time to that which I would normally wake up, I tend to get up just before my alarm.

I think the same can be applied to dreams and recall. If your intent on remembering and waking I think in time you can almost train your mind to work in this way.

Again this is a theory of mine, and might not necessarily be true, but based on my experiences is what I have found

Along w/ everything else that's already been said, when you wake up, DO NOT MOVE! Seriously, when you wake up just stay in whatever position you woke up in and try to remember your dreams. Even if you only remember fragments, write them down, b/c its still better than nothing and will hopefully help you in improving dream recall. Also, if you do wake up in the middle of the night and you remember a dream, write it down immediately. DO NOT wait until morning, b/c chances are that you'll forget it.
